HI, Every good news websites offers feeds to in touch with updates, I am wonder if I display those feeds on my website, will i have to buy subscription to display feeds data. Please clear mu doubt. Thanks
I checked yahoo feeds page, but still confused do i have to pay for feeds to desplay on my own website http://news.yahoo.com/page/rss
Basically you cannot use those feeds if your site is "commercial" i.e. runs advertising or takes in any revenue whatsoever. That is pretty common with many rss feeds and what you need to obtain express permission for use on a commercial site - and that may require paying a fee if they allow it at all.
No you cannot use it in any commercial way whatsoever.. The terms are usually something like PRIVATE and PERSONAL, NONCOMMERCIAL use only. Services like the AP, AHN, Reuters, AFP all offer news services.
If they are proving thier feed for free, then why they charge if i display on my site, why they don't charge if I use blogspot or any other CMS which aloows feed display. I just want to use the portion they provide in feed, not the whole news, I will redirect the user to their site. Acc to Yahoo, We have to mention the source of feed, and redirect user to actual source which actually i m doing. Please clear my doubts.
You were already given a clear answer. RSS feeds are for the user, not display on a commercial website. The same goes for any CMS or blogspot. Just because a program allows you to display a feed, it in no way checks to make sure it is being used legally - just like you could steal a photo and post it on either - it's still illegal. You can't do it without express permission, period. That should be clear enough for you.
Thanks for make me understand exact scenario. I like Fox news Feeds but wonder whom to contact, please guide on this too. Thanks
