    I have had PR 6 dictionary site for over a year & index page has always been PR6.
    However in last 2 weeks, PR is steadily falling over Google DC's.
    Please can someone advise on what I should do.
    Are there PR7 sites that gurantee to pass PR?

    I would agree that once Google updates, it is probably too late to change the pr back untill the next update, which means that, unfortunately, you will probably be stuck with the smaller pagerank for a few months.

    Guarantee to pass? Any PR7 site one-way link will pass pr to a certain degree depending on relevance but 1 PR7 link isn't going to make your site a PR7 :rolleyes:

    And Google is in the process of making PageRank more valuable by downgrading sites PR to where they should be instead of a PR5-6-7 which alot of worthless sites have. It is all good mate. BTW pr is meaningless and worthless. Rankings are the bread we live by.

    Don't worry about PR. It is just a guideline. It doesn't say your web site will not be well ranked.

    PR is worthless mate. Has no value whatsoever to do with rankings. A PR2 can outrank a PR7 anyday of the week

    Also, if you are in the DP coop, PR matters.

    I went from PR5 -> PR1 (mostly because google dropped me out of the index, so my weight fell, so my PR falls.. so my weight falls... down down down).

    But that means, my weight goes from 5765 -> 270.

    That sucks. :(

    Page rank is important:

    * People give you more trust
    * Value of site increases

    Peace,

    LOL very cold way of saying, but at the same time not completely off the mark. That said though this guy has a directory which is essentially a place people come to get links listed - so if his PR goes down people will be less inclined to list their sites, which may well be the main revenue source for his site...

    PR definitely does have value - when you have people appraoching you to buy links the difference between a PR 2 link and PR 7 link is HUGE. Sure a well SEOed PR2 can out rank a extremely poored SEOed/irrelvant PR7, but if you take to sites in the same industry and optimised them for the same terms I know which site I'd like to have.

    I personally think PR is semi-important, but I'm not exactly fussed too much about the PR my sites have as long as they are ranking well in the SERPs, but if I was a link trader then of course PR would matter and in a big way!
