I think there may be opportunities in consumer electronics (which are capped at 4%) on Amazon. I recently found a growing niche with 40000 searches a month and zero competition. Even at 4% it wouldn't take much to make good money on 40000 searches and with no competition it should be easy to rank quickly.

 

Hey sisironline it adds up to good amount and i think the 4% is on electronics only. Right now I am earning about 7% from my sales. Just build a lot of different small stores and promote and by the time you know it will be getting sales.

 

selling something in the range of $1000 is best. But I know it is difficult to make sales of this price. If you have high relevant traffic u will be able to make some good amount from amazon and this is what I lacks.

 

You may have already made some sales. Only then ur commission rate increases. I think every products in amazon have the same commission rate. It only varies with affiliates. If I am wrong, please let me know

 

Yep you are wrong. Commission rate doesn't depends on Affiliates it depends on sales volume. But some products has a flat rate. like items in this list.

But $500-1000 products don't sell.
How many buyers are capable of purchasing such high priced items. Only a few and for those products, many sellers are ready to pay $5-10 per click for adword ads.

 

if you write about stuff you love, you won't have to worry about the conversions, because you "love" the subject matter, do it as though you weren't getting paid and watch the money start...and if it never does, that should be ok, because you "love" the subject matter

So you aren't standing at the mall door, desperately looking for that 1 in 25,000 customers looking for a camera, your website is *ONLY* intercepting those high ticket purchasers. Nikon isn't going broke selling $3,000 cameras...

4% is still good for you if you have more traffic. Imagine if you get 10 clicks from Adsense each click worth $0.50 than your earning will be $5 but if you sell 10 Amazon products which price should be $100 your earnings will be $40.!
