hi lads, Just found out why since 2 days ago I was getting about 2.500 - 3.000 pageviews less. Google has banned my site for my main 2 keywords (listed top 10) and now not even showing up. When this happen, is there an estimation time to be listed back? I've been checking a couple of threads but did not find specific answer, please feel free to move or close this thread if in the wrong place.
If you did something wrong or blackhat then you won't get back until you fix it. What exactly did you do? Your best bet is to submit a reconsideration request and explain to them what happened and what you did to fix the problem. It could take from a few weeks to a few months.
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/reconsideration I used it once and rankings were recovered in a matter of days.
Why do you say you are banned? If you search your domain name is it found? Does your site rank for other keywords? Did you do anything to trick Google? If you did nothing wrong, and if your site ranks for other keywords, then just be patient. It is very common for a site to disappear for a few days. At this time, Google is recalculating all of the factors that go into determining your document score for various keywords. When the site returns, it is often a little bit higher on the page.
Honestly I think I did nothing wrong or BlackHats, not that I know... Feel free to have a look at my site, maybe you can find something wrong: espalandroid.net At the beginning I thought it could be some keyword density issue but none of the KW are repeated many times.... For some other KW people can still find me, but for the main ones I'm not top 100 even. You reckon is just Google updating? It's been more than 3 days by now. thanks guys Nicolas
The most recent activity could have been: - Some backlinks in form of comments - A few adjustments in the title re-writer plugin that I use (minor changes of order for some KW). Is this something that Google does? I mean blocking you for specific KWs and allowing others to display your results? The whole thing just took away around 2.000/3.000 pageviews per day (not nice...). Thanks guys for your comments Nicolas
Links from comment is not a big threat but a title rewritten may be. Since title tag is the most important on-page factors considered by major search engine including Google - any change made on title tag will cause the ranking to be fluctuated. However, this could be only a short term and will be back but hardly to estimate the time.
I agree with you Sxperm, Titles are highly important but until the point that the site is wiped out from the Top 100? and just for those 2 keywords (main ones)? I rely on you lads, since you are the experts . If you say is not to worrying then I'll wait a few days to see if it was an Index/Title issue... I would appreciate if someone with experience on similar issues could have a look at my site: espalandroid.net Thanks a bunch again mates, as usually there's no better place than this forum for these kind of queries.
Hi folks, After squeezing my head till the end, I might have the point where I blew up my Google Rank for those 2 KWs. What do you think? In WM tools under Site Configuration >> Settings I did change the Geographic target (pretty sure it wasn't set to any Country and in one of those little tweaks I must set it up). You can read in the info: If this was the reason, I guess I should see my site at some point back... Does this factor affect the traffic in Google.com for example? Or just a parameter for G. to build up the ranking of the site? I still a noob, learning everyday cheers nicolas
Your domain is new, so be careful adding blogroll links. I'd suggest article posting first. Please write if changing geo target back helps.
Hi again, Basically I'd say false alarm!, all is back to normal. I'm listed again for those 2 KWs (I hope what I did yesterday, removing the Geo Target is not gonna give me another few days "off" from SERP). thanks guys for your support Nicola
