would you buy a 2 character domain name?

    I've come across a situation where I can potentially buy a 2 character domain name. The owner wants $1000 minimum for it.

    Do you think it's worth it for something potentially so rare? Please don't ask what it is, I wont say ;)

    Having zero experience in 2 character domain names, are they worth much more than $1000 or is this an over priced product?

    It's a .com or a .net. As in it is one of those but I wont say which one. It's not a .info or .biz or anything like that, it's definately a .com/.net

    The only other issue does it matter that it's not LL ? So it is either a LN or a NN

    L = letter
    N = number

    Even so, any two character .com or .net is worth $1000 easily.

    I think it would matter. Would you really pay $1000 for something like O4.net? Or, p6.net? It really depends on the actual domain. Personally, I wouldn't buy any .net for $1. But, I suppose it depends on what you plan to do with the domain...

    He isn't selling one IMO, just asking for an opinion:)
    I'd go with VS, if I feel I can develop it well and the name has potential, then I wouldn't mind paying that sum

    I'm ripping someone off? Isn't it up to the seller to sell at a price he wants?

    From me? Not at all

    73.net is the domain. If you look at his contact page he says the minimum price is $1000.

    His email to me said:

    The $1000 price is only a minimum.
    This domain, like most other 2 number domains, is priced at well over $10,000.

    I was interested in it because 73 was the year I was born

    Oh, figures. You should have asked him before making this thread, it's hard to believe anyone would let go of a NN .net domain for $1000
