rates were decreased ... today the downloads were 50% lower than previous days with new links posted. is it coincidence? OR something wrong with the counts? check the stats please !
They have changed the rewards scheme with very low download rates thats why, fore more info check their site.
@Filefactory I was away a week and have now recognized the changes on the rewards etc.... so: Congratulations for your work-around's and let me say: i am very glad, that you have implemented so much of my suggestions (even if the reason for implementation wasn't my suggestion at all ) Let's make an summary, how i understand your changes: Pros: - you are counting more referrals due to implementing the IP-tracking - you are paying more for referrals which gives advantage for those who have much sales and those who supports FF exclusively - you allowing mirroring files from now without limitations - you won't decline payments anymore for unclear and changing reasons - you won't put users to comission anymore, even if they have less or no sales they can earn (lower) download rates Cons: -you have lowered the download rates (but remember the above: enhanced the sales-rates too) I have understand it the right way? If so: then i see only advantages for everyone! Conclusions: - FF puts the business on a larger base by allowing mirrors. Mirroring uppers are now finally welcome on FF too and this will result in a quite larger offer for the leecher (remember: that are the guys, who pays the whole bill) and give much more reasons to purchase an FF account. Uppers with mirrors get's fewer rewards at all, but they still have income from other hosts, so this will be (or must be) ok for them and it will be better instead become nothing due the old rules. This changing is very important for the general acceptance of FF, it has no benefit for anybody if FF rely on some exclusively uppers only, couse no leecher uses only an single site exclusively to obtain downloads and so they purchasing accounts that are useable on many differnt sites. This was an great stucture-problem with FF which now is solved. - FF continues to support the exclusively uppers massively by increased sales-rewards as well. - FF reduces confrontation with uppers (declined payments due to less sales, mirroring files etc.) and gives everyone the sureness, that there will be an payout, even if it will be smaller couse of mirroring or less sales. This will improve the reputation of FF and this will also lowering the spends of time and costs on mailsupport too - And at all: If FF has an balanced cashflow it will be better for all participants: it is useless for all uppers, all leechers and FF himself, if the company rans out of money due to enormous reward rates for few peoples while generating only few sales and having a bad market position. All uppers has to remember: less is better than nothing. I understand anybody who hesitate to accept the lowered download-rates on the first sight. But think about it twice: If you have many downloads and the payments came without problems, you also have many sales. As 'FileFactory' said: this will balance you out (or even give you more rewards). If you have many downloads and your payments was declined in the past, you now get fewer rewards on one hand, on the other hand you will get them with no if's and no but's. So i am unfortunately in the second group of members for several reasons (not the DMCA issue, but over here FF generally plays only a small role for now) and for my understanding it will be better to recieve something -> instead of receiving nothing and discuss about it for weeks. So i look into future, if FF pays the promised instead of declining for several reasons, it will be fine for me and i again support FF with new files. I think good next major steps will be translating the site into other languages and thinking about the 24GB Limit for premium-users. And some personally @Filefactory: i have sent my issue again to support as you requested, but have still no answer until now, and an single payment is still declined, how we can resolve this finally? regards ben
@above - I agree with all of it - I like that they give more % on sales now - people have the potential to earn more with them now. although tbh right now im earning more with duckload...
Filefactory please increase sales commission to 30% with such very low download rates as this will motivate us to put strategies to sell more FF premium accounts.
Filefactory please make Turbo reliable or allow free users to use FTP as uploading in filefactory is very difficult with current Turbo.
I think there is confusion with the terms I'm using. When I say "comission only", I am referring to sales commission, as in, the percentage of money you get when somebody purchases a Premium account. Perhaps I should be saying "Sales Comission". There are only two plans: A: You earn the rates listed per 1,000 downloads, and you also earn 20% of any sales you generate, or: B: You earn 50 - 60% of any sales you make, but you earn *nothing* for any downloads. People who want to mirror or own websites will probably be better off with plan B. Plan B is the thing I'm referring to as the "Commission Only" plan - that has nothing to do with the actual referral commission (which is where you, John, refer Bob, and you get a percentage of his earnings). @dkp: - The referral link is on the Rewards Summary page, but people who download your files are still going to be counted as referrals. This has not changed. - Why will you need to re-upload files in smaller parts to earn Rewards? - Anybody who is earning 50 - 60% earns *nothing* from any file downloads. They only make money if they sell accounts. I think there is a misunderstanding with the Rewards program now. - Can you let me know if what I've said at the top of this post clarifies things? I think I have confused you with interchanging terms. - We are open to increasing the commission for members if they'll actively promote and utilize the site. We are monitoring the earnings and seeing how things are going for a bit before making any other changes across the board. - Turbo will be rewritten but it needs to be redone from the ground up, and it's a fairly complex program unfortunately. @donatus: Let me know if you haven't received a reply to your email today, it's Monday here now so you should receive something if you haven't already. @preza83: - Glad you got your payment, sorry it took so long. - A new panel will be placed on the Rewards Summary page soon which will list your affiliates and the amount you've earned from them. @maniac-: People who use us exclusively will see very little change in their earnings. As I said previously, we analyzed a lot of accounts and the majority of them earn more under the new program. @Max.: You would only earn that on FileSonic's Sales Commission plan; in that case, you'd be looking at $39.50 - $47.40 from us. If you've negotiated a custom rate with them of 60% AND you're earning money for downloads, you must have very valuable traffic to them, because their plan says per-download OR 60% of sales. @dzbuy16: Thanks for your patience while working through the issue. Regarding the Remote Uploader, I will whitelist your account from the captcha on that page. @cluvse23: The file size tiers have changed, but your total downloads should not have been, unless you have a lot of files under 5MB. If you don't, please PM me your account email and I'll have a look for you. @benjoo: Thank you! This is exactly the way that we have tried to target the issue. I realize a lot of people are concerned with the drop in download rates but while they look to be cut in half, that is generally not what will happen to earnings. Also, we're hoping that the positives outweigh the cons, like you've listed. I will check into the payment for you. @jimbo-53: I'm glad you agree. I am not too familiar with duckload, but their logo is cool If I missed anybody in this reply please let me know.
For the widgets is there a way to display the 20 latest uploaded files or files that shows on default folder ?
I think there's another change that was not discussed so far: Country Groups! Canada United Kingdom Germany were not previously available in Group A?
Will referred users 20% (download rate + low sales commission if they are in plan A) or (sales only commission if they are in plan B) - be added to a Plan B user too (if he recruits new uploader to FF) ? Files for example in 500 MB, 1 GB get only 300+ MB download value which is only $15 per 1000 so if we split say a 900 MB into 3 parts then instead of only 15$ we get 3 x $15 = $45.
Previously this kind of link http://www.filefactory.com/affiliates/refer/xxxxxxx is used for referring new uploaders to FF, is this link still valid or we need to change to http://www.filefactory.com/member/refer/xxxxxxx for referring new uploaders Thanks
Do you know anyone who is a fan of captcha? why do we have captcha for remote upload? Just waiting for a reply to PM now.
What about users who download with some 3rd party software to automate download, will Filefactory reject payment to uploader for downloaders automated usage ?
Last Email from FF was at 20. Nov. 2010... and until now I haven´t received any message or mail... And what shall that mean: suddenly nobody downloads my files?
