Basically, I do not backlink my articles. But just bookmark each an every article to as many sites as possible. Sarim.
I generally try to get them a couple backlinks. Google doesn't appear to put as much weight on internal linking unless there is some external also. Usually if I get 2-3 links to the article it will gain some PR usually PR1 - PR3. With no external links to the page only links from the article site usually the article does ot get PR. (at least in my experience)
Are these backlinks and PR still showing up? I know backlinking to the article itself used to work, articles in the "Most Viewed" section used to have thousands of backlinks and PR, but now they don't. That's the point of this tread - can you see any backlinks or PR now? In the smeoz tool you can see some sometimes, but not in Yahoo Explorer. Thanks
Very few links show on Google, Yahoo will usually show them. And all of the pages that I have added a couple links to have some PR. At least the last time I checked. For older articles I just randomly check them if I happen to be thinking about it. To me its not worth putting too much time into, as well as not putting loo much link effort into. I just want to make sure there are a few links from an outside source to my articles.
It is called link for links, building backlinks to support articles will strengthen those links to your main site, SY
I understand what it's for, and I'm using it for other linking purposes as well. Can anybody actually tell me they're seeing those backlinks to those articles? https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com http://www.seomoz.org/linkscape Thanks
