Well it has been a long time coming I have finally done it. I have cracked the $100/day mark! Three figures in a day! Man I somehow thought it would feel a lot better than this but all I can think about is consolidating those earnings and moving onto the next milestone. I mean don't get me wrong it was a HUGE shock when I turned my computer on looked at my AdSense Notifier extension I have running with FireFox to see the $96 I had earned a couple of hours ago, I was sorta sitting there going "Oh my god! This is it! This is the moment I have been working for!" but then it sorta set in after 10 seconds and I started thinking "Well it is good, but I know that this is just the tip of the iceberg - so what can I get to work on?" and I can't help but feel that this milestone will soon become like all the others, just a moment that at the time I felt was extraordinary but within a month or two I will be looking at it going man I don't know why I was so excited about $100/day (well I hope my earnings continue and that will be my future feelings). I guess now my goal is to make the month of October an average of $100/day. I guess I also just wanted to throw this question out there to all those people that reached this milestone (or one equivalent for you), how did you feel when you reached your major milestone?
Firsly , Congratulations , my first milesonte was 10 dollars/day and I made it some months ago. Then my host went bust :S Also , may I ask for the stats on the website you're making 100 $ a day from? (unqiues , time up , time put in , paid ads..) Also , I'm from Brisbane , Stafford (Northside) what part are you from?
$100 a day.. I've got it a few times but no where near to average it. I was excited when I got it. Actually shocked, because one day my link got on some foreign website and got me xx,xxx amount of hits and made me the $100+ day. I felt lucky but excited at the same time. I still have a long way to go to average 100 a day but heck, that is one nice paycheck monthly from google. But congrats on it and good luck on the future.
Hey, a fellow Aussie! My milestone at the moment is $1/day. Today I have earned nothing. Argh, some days you yust want to give up!
I'm from Mt Ommaney (Westside) great to see another Aussie well with AdSense. As for my site/s. Well I run a few sites but the vast majority of earnings are coming from one site. The number of uniques per day is hard for me to estimate to be honest because I don't have an overall tracker for all my sites or anything, and I'm actually starting to just create Analytics profiles for each of the pages of my site so that I can further refine each page, but if I was guess I'd guess around the 8,000 mark. Most of my sites were established in between mid 2004 and the end of 2005. So they are semi-mature sites with nicely aged domains and lots of backlinks and obviously getting decent traffic. As for time put in, well I can't honestly say that I'm the world most dedicated person but I do put a fair amount of time in, not just to my sites but probably more so into learning about how this whole online industry world works. I have been reading into things for over two years now and have been a member here at DP for one and I still feel like a complete newbie compared to some of the people around here. If you want an hourly figure, I'd say on average I'd say at least an hour or two a day on my sites, and probably double that on just reading and learning. Thanks. I definitely think it is probably more important to consolidate my position than it is just reach the $100 mark, and obviously that is a lot harder than just reaching the $100 mark once off, so that is probably my real priority. LOL I probably won't go for the $1000/day just. I have a couple of goals between reaching this one and reaching that one. Firstly I want to consolidate the $100/day by averaging $100/day for the month of October. Then I will probably aim for $275/day - because that is how much you need to earn $100,000/year which is quite milestone. Then obviously consolidating $275/day is the next goal. Then moving towards $500/day then the big four figure day would be the goal. Baby steps... . Sure many days you want to give up - but you never make it if you give up. I personally got to crossroad only 3 - 4 months ago when I was earning about $10 - $15/day (but I had been at this point for 6 months) where I was pretty much was faced with the decision of starting taking this website development and marketing seriously or getting serious about university because I'm only about 10 subjects total away from graduating from two degrees, but I choose to only do 1 subject this semester so that I could focus on my websites. Earning $100 today says to me that I made the right decision, and I know this is only the tip of the iceberg. Everyone at some point if they ever want to make it anywhere have to back themselves even when the future is unclear, and it's funny how quickly the future actually clears up once you get committed. So definitely don't give up if this is what you want to do!
Way to go, not a lot of people get there. Now watch the earnings for a week, it should stay pretty much the same (unless you got a sudden spike of traffic the first day, which would skew the stats), and THEN you'll see if smartpricing kicks in or not. If smartpricing does hit your account, it'll almost cut your $100 average in half, or 30-40% from my own personal experiences. If you survive a week or two without a sudden plunge in earnings (with the same number of clicks or higher), then you haven't been smartpriced, which means you are one lucky fella. I'm saying this so you won't be surprised when it happens. It can be a heck of a crazy shock when it first happens, I think anyone who has been smartpriced will tell you. As the saying goes, Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. Adsense smartpricing is a BIOTCH.
That is excellent and very awesome - thanks for the post, it inspires us all to great goals of our own
Thanks for the heads up, but yeah I'm ready for it. Like I said my goal is to consolidate first - I'm not about to go rearrange my whole monthly spending budget based on this one day's earnings. But that said my EPC isn't exactly crash hot anyway, I don't know how much they could smart price me. I mean I'm talking on average around the $0.07 - $0.10 mark. So yeah I'm not overly concerned. Also I'm not really at the point yet where I'll consistently be making that three figure mark. I mean the reason I made it today is largely due to the fact that I posted a few articles a couple of days ago which have finally hit the SERPs and done reasonable well in combination with the fact that today is traditionally my best day of the week. So whilst it is looking like I'll finish the day around the $105 - $110 mark, I'm fully expect my earnings to go back down to around the $60 - $70 mark for the remainder of the week. That said I will obviously be working on new articles and content over the week and slowly chipping away are improving earning one article and one link at a time. Glad to hear it.
Wow there are actually quite a few people from Brisbane in these forums aren't there... well it is good to see. If my AdSense earnings keeps growing the way they have been recently it won't be too long before I'll be investing in my own place at Indooroopilly or Toowong, but that is if I get my earnings up to the point where I can get a big enough deposit ($50,000) for a townhouse because to be honest I'm pretty sure if I tried to explain to a bank manager that I own a couple of sites that make money and that he should give me $200,000 - $300,000 as loan, he'd fall off his chair.
yeh , bank managers are pretty weird type of species.. you got any other sites you're thinking of making/developing.. ?
Yeah Loads! I have a book of loads of ideas I want to implement on my current sites as well as new sites I want to create. Of course time is always a HUGE issue, I do what I can and I will hopefulyl start a couple of new sites in the coming months, but to be honest I have a couple of other priorities right at the moment other than websites and making money on them. I imagine that 2007 for me will be a year where I will spend a lot more time on web development things.
Well I have finished up on $105.79! I'm very happy but at the same time I quite eager because I have pretty much gone from earning $X/day to earning $XXX/day within a month so it has been a very rapid change and I'm eager to continue things on this path and this little taste of success has only got me hungerier for more. The thing is now I'm getting scared that I probably have too many eggs in one basket, and whilst Google isn't my complete source of income it is a good 70% of my income now which sorta scares me a little bit. I was just wondering if people that are earning $XXX+/day ever get worried about what would happen it Google was to close your account. I mean I know I don't have anything to worry about if I'm following the Google TOS but that doesn't make me not scared - I mean there are so many things that could happen that could get an account closed/banned that are out of your control. This sort of worries me...
