Hi .. How to Open US Bank Account for Non-Resident ? Is that possible ? If I know someone living in the US, will that be simpler ?? Please enlighten me !!! Thanks ..
Because of some laws that were passed after 9/11, it's almost impossible to get a US bank account if you are not in the US. As far as I know, you must have a US social security card, and most banks have to actually see you before they will open up the account. It's possible to start a US based business as a non-resident, but once you get to the bank account, you run into the same problem as with trying to open one up personally. The best way would be to have a US business partner open up the account. You would have to be able to trust them, as they would be in full control of the bank account. Also, they would be liable for any problems with the account.
If you are in the UK, take a look at Citibank. They offer a US Dollar currency current account. It is not a true US account but it allows you to deposit US dollar cheques, hold a balance in US dollars and withdraw money in the US (in US dollars of course). This will probably work for other countries as well.
No I'm in Tunisia .. But I know a Guy in the US .. I'll see what he can do .. Thanks for answering Rep+
Hi, I"m in Tunisia Too. You can't have real US Bank Account, but you can a virtual one, that will work with direct deposit. You simple go find a partner of Payoneer, like scriptlance or freelancer.com . Then when you get some money in your balance their, withdraw them to "payoneer mastercard debit card", they will redirect you to payoneer, you will have an US MasterCard + optionaly an US Bank Account. If you need more help pm me
There have many sites offering US bank account for non US resident, but as I think all of them are scam. Only an US citizen can open bank account here. Note: You can take help from a known person in US.
