For all you Canadians out there... how is the cost of living in Canada? In Vancouver, to be more specific.

Say you earn 25,000 CAD per month. Would that be enough to live well?

Of course. You would be living very well actually. Canada's average house-hold income is like 35K/Year. It's great :)

Even with a nasty coke habit I think you would be comfortable in ANY country on that income.

If you want to live in a nice area in Vancouver $25K/month should do it. I have a friend that makes about $50k/month and although he does have a good lifestyle, it's by no means extravagant and he says he needs to gross about $40k/month to maintain his lifestyle.

Vancouver is very expensive and the taxes are killer.

Of course there is a difference between living well and living really well. Of course it all depends on what your bills are going to be and it would depends on the area you live it.

I am pretty sure you will enjoy yourself lots with 25k/m Fryman.

If spending $25K/m isn't extravagent, WTF is. What do you want, a beachside penthouse with a different girl every hour, lol.

Don't get me wrong, you could live very well, I'd love to live a lifestyle where I could be frivolous with my money and $25K/month falls far short here. Don't forget after taxes your $25K would turn into less than $15K.

You'd need a lot more than $25K/month to get that here in Vancouver, a lot, lot more.

As I read through the thread I was thinking you guys were crazy...Vancouver is crazy expensive! Until I realized he said per month and not per year :)

25K a month will get you anything you want in Canada, including the penthouse with a different woman every hour :D

25K/mo is a decent income in Canada...Vancouver isn't that expensive..but it's lovely ...much better than the rest of snowy Canada (IMO)..You'll have no problems with that income...

I've lived all over the country, and Vancouver is easily the most expensive city in the country as far as cost of living is concerned.
