There used to be a few UK Google Groups and Yahoo Groups for UK specific proxies, always worth checking out there (many allow free posts)
Are people still making good money with proxy sites - like $50 plus per day? - It's been years since I had proxy sites, might get some more up and running...
Just set up a small proxy site on a old domain that i had laying around its installed on a dedicated server with 1 gig connection can someone help in how i can promote this type of site please ??? I have never really grasped how to promote them. Thanks
You could try promoting it through forums made for teenagers, where users often come together to discuss things like these. You could perhaps drop your link over there and check if it's of any help.
I have a few spare domains that are just sitting doing nothing i have just set up another new proxy as it is not doing anything would this be seen as a good move to at least get picked up by google or not ??? to me it would seem logic to earn maybe a small amount of revenue rather than nothing what so ever.
Flash Compatibility I've been developing flash movie parsing for 7 months now, so I'm happy to announce that I've finally managed it. Here's a screenshot showing the regular YouTube player. The activity window shows that all requests are routed through the proxy. http://i.imgur.com/p21xC.png No special modifications were made to play YouTube videos, it works with any flash video player. There's a couple of things: You need a dedicated server to use this. It will be distributed as a Glype and PHProxy plugin, I won't be supporting CGI Proxy. Right now there is high saturation in the proxy business. This plugin will give you a competitive advantage that others can't compete with. You better start registering your vimeoproxy.com, metacafeproxy.com, etc domains now. PM me for pricing or questions.
I think this needs demonstration first before anybody gets too excited. Post one of your proxy sites so that people can test it out.
I couldn't agree more with NickW2's comment. ipro we will need a live demo in order to get more into this and decide whether to purchase or not.
Does anybody know if it is worth buying tech-faq submissions or do they not get the traffic nowadays? Thanks
Unfortunately I can't do that because I'm not currently running any proxy sites. However here's a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eByDVbYefDc There it's seen parsing grooveshark.com, which is an entirely flash based website that streams music -- and a website that no webproxy currently supports.
These days proxies rather make $0.50 as clicks pay very low, and there is also Google smart pricing which could affect your Adsense earnings from other sites in your account.
For adsense earnings, Would it not work if i put a finance article on my proxy or something that has a high CPC. Then surely the ads would change to match what the article is about and my cpc would be higher? Or would i get banned from adsense for doing this? Thanks
It looks promising, however, I imagine the only way you're going to spark people's interest enough is with a live demo.
Any of you guys wanna run my google group, has over 300 users. A lot are from year or 2 ago though but i have recently started it again and in the last 2 days gained a extra 20 members. I promote it on all my proxies so should get a fair few members each day. I am just looking for somebody who will post fresh proxies on there each day, they can use it for there own or what ever. I just dont want it lying there not being used as i want to try and get the member base up. Thanks
