I sell 5$ - 3000$ products and my average price for the item I sell is 700$. People do like buying online, especially if you give them tons of information. "This company" is the best store online and one of the oldest. Never had any problems To improve your conversion rate; what makes you stand out from other more official sites with same Amazon links? Figure that out. When I review something, I put one link in top and one image link at the bottom.
Second what Tarum said. If you built your site carefully you can earn more than from AdSense with a Amaozn site.

One way to get targeted traffic is to use product names as your keyword. People searching for product names are usually in a primed mode to purchase.
I think Content is King and wiil be great in long term. But many people like to auto pump content for short term.
