If there is one thing I love it’s buying a domain with traffic. I can then quickly look at where the traffic is coming from, which pages it’s hitting and build a mini-site to make money off of it instantly. I picked up a domain from auction for $120, scraped the old website from Archive.org and put some adsense on it. Few weeks later and it’s making $10 per day. Why do all the hard work in building a site when someone out there is just giving away the whole lot? So today's list of domains up for auction are all ones that have traffic. Here is a sample: ALL these domains are currently up for auction in the Godaddy auctions and I've listed about 25 more here: http://savednames.com/2010/11/godaddy-domains-with-traffic-on-251110/ HAPPY HUNTING!
I dont think you can buy that domain with 18,000 traffic under $20. By the time the auction ends it would reach $xxx I have tried my hands by bidding on such names for $30-$40 range only to be outbid during the last minutes of auction. And an interesting fact 2 of the domains in your screenshot are in my Watchlist (not gonna bid but just wanted to know the final price
The key is in understanding what traffic the domain potentially has. The listed numbers are approximate based on how many visitors have hit the domain while it's in it's EXPIRED status at Godaddy.com - this is a period where the Google traffic would of dropped. Domains that are listed as having 1 or 2 thousand visitors per month can be re-built and the traffic can jump way up once the google rankings are re-gained. Plus, it's not always the domains with the largest amount of traffic you want. Lot's of those are adult and the traffic is worthless. Buy something with traffic you *understand* how to convert. For example, I understand the download/PPI (PAY PER INSTALL) niches and know how to monetise that traffic. I recently got a site for free (I offered to buy it, they said I could have it) and within 3 days had re-built the site and it's now doing $50-70 PER DAY. Know your niches, know your traffic
Thanks for sharing the info Chris. Its inspiring... At times you could be lucky to find some gems for low price at tdnam. I have bought PR domains and flipped for profit within few days... but never bought any traffic domains. I guess I would try to buy some sooner..
Chris thanks for the info, but I'm sure that will not be able to buy as cheap domain name that brings thousands of visitors per month for the same funny money. By the time of your purchase price will be the domain of its already over $ 300-500
Point taken, how about 13 year old domains for $9 that listed as 'buy it now' domains. No bidding, you can have these at $9. http://savednames.com/2010/11/antique-domains-12-years-old-at-godaddy/
