Hi all I am 6 months old in blogging and very new to all of these. And i was a silent reader in this forum. Now i really like to know what kind of effort you put to bring traffic for your blog? Average visitors for my blog will be 15 / day. My Blog is http://todays-trends.blogspot.com Apart from Social bookmarking, Please suggest me some advice from your side to increase the traffic. 1. Because the day you stop posting your blog in facebook or orkut, the visitors coming will be less. 2. I am not sure about article writing in ezine and any where else as i dont have enough ranking for this blog. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks asinits

Hi there asinits, That's what i felt too when my blog was new. At the moment when i stop commenting in forums, or yahoo answers, my visitors are less LOL. But it will get better when you get more posts and traffic engines traffics. I personally like to have search engine traffics, because they find your sites through keywords and those are targetted traffics. The most cool thing is they come everyday without you doing posting in social media or commenting in forums. Although social media and networking is very important. Here is what i did in my blog. 1. Create posts regularly and these should be quality content. Why? because when your post is useful to others, people will link your post everywhere, can be on their sites, forums, etc. Free links! 2. Optimizing your site for SEO, and the theme (yes it matters to me, the cleaner your code, the more smooth search engines bots crawling and fetching your site content). 3. Submitting your site to websites directories,and dofollow bookmarking sites(i don't do it anymore now, as i have no time, but we should! ) 4. Article submission. 5. Guest posting. 6. I am getting traffic from search engines and social media sites.I have done some perfect on-site and off-site seo that is driving traffic for me from google and yahoo search engine.For driving traffic from social media sites I have to do lots of work everyday specially activity works great there.

To get a bigger traffic to your blog share it in the Social Media sites like Facebook, include signature in Forum posting, post unique content in Article submission sites, Social bookmarking too. Do all these work in high PR sites. I also suggest you to create RSS feed for your blog & add it in your blog. Using this your blog visitors will subscribe for that. For that you have to update your site frequently then only your subscribers will get a news letter about your update. Doing, all these surely you will get a tremendous traffic.

I receive on an average 5 - 6k unique visitors a day. There are lot many techniques i use to get quality traffic. - I have a regular posting frequency for my blog - I write quality, unique content for my visitors - Having a neat email subscription list of 16 - 20k users that i have gradually improved over many years but is my biggest asset after my content - Be active on good forums and similar niche blogs - Interact with your visitors - Use Twitter, FB, Stumble, Reddit, Technorati, Digg effectively - Interlink within posts to old posts - Show related posts - Promote old posts - Use feedburner And Enjoy your blogging!! for starter, keep writing unique content and frequently updating will help google ranking for long term. use social networks, forum posts, blog comments, article submission will draw a lot of attention for your site as well.

Currently I'm trying hard to load my blog as many articles as I can. Then doing a regular forum posting, social bookmarking, blog commenting and back linking.
Just focus on unique content (400-500 word articles/posts, the more the better) and commenting on other niche related blogs and you will easily get there.
Although there are plenty of ways to drive traffic to your blog, the most reliable ways are article marketing, reciprocal links and discussion forums (like this)
