Getting Paid just for Searching - Excellent New Strategy By Yahoo to Take On Google

    Hi

I am not sure which parts of the world has received this offer yet. But I am from the UK and today I received an interesting email offer.

Yahoo has partnered up with Nectar

Nectar give you points for shopping at certain places etc when you have enough points you can go to there website and buy gifts etc

I got an email saying that if I install the nectar toolbar (which is powered by yahoo) and use it for searches I will get 1 Nectar point for every 2 searches I make. In time this could add up to quite a few nectar points, and points = gifts (you can spend points at amazon as well as other shops)

I feel quite tempted to start using it as I use google a lot for searching, but if I can get points for this, then maybe I will swap over.

    What does anyone else think?

I hate having unnecessary toolbars installed on my computer, so they would have to offer some pretty good deals to make it worth it to me.

Would a macro not be called for here?

Simply working through a list of 5,000 words to search on repeat would mean that you would bank 2,500 points per run... lol not that i know what nectar's actually offering in return for that amount?

I have to agree with you. Looking into it its just not worth the hassle, I don't want no more clutter on my browser, just gets in the way plus yahoo search is rubbish anyway!

you are only thinking it from the point of view of a webmaster and an online earner. but from the general perspective an end user would actually think that if searching on yahoo gets me some incentive why should i search from google. From an end user point of view yahoo search is as good as google search. So it definitely gives yahoo the edge. And with the ever increasing arrogance and monopoly of google ... such measures can really make them humble in the longer term.

    Good going Yahoo...

Good going Yahoo? Nice joke paidforumposters. They are offering 0.25 GBP/Euro per month for searching. Is that worthwhile? Definitely not. Even if i lived in poverty i would not take them up on this offer, especially as you have to use their crappy toolbar, which in most cases effects performance of browsers.

Mate if you look up the whole nectar thing... its far more than just points for searching. There are several ways to get points. Points for searching is just a part of the whole thing.
Rewards and Incentives for online shopping was always an enticing affair. But now if someone like yahoo enters this race, then prospects should be good for everyone ...
    Its not a JOKE...

And I get your point mate.. Putting ourselves as a regular searchers and not as webmasters, and then we know that when we use Y! we can earn money.. We will definitely go for Y! as yahoo also gives result to our searches. And those regular users often don't care on how many installed toolbar they have in their browsers..

haha this is a funny post ... and i think yahoo is will get very bad results if they try to go public with this 3E per year for searches method ...
it would work better if they were giving it out for charity, then at least someone would have it ...

It's only wasting time. You will get nowhere with their rates.
