What Do You Think of This?

A buyer bought a domain from me.
He paid and I pushed the domain.

Now, he sends me a message here in DP, saying he has problems installing hosting on the domain and now wants his money back with a threat that he will file a paypal dispute. I don't think this is right for him to do.

    His message:
In response, I told him to try installing the hosting for the domain again and wait for up to48 hours for DNS configuration to take effect.

Here's my take on this issue:

First when he entered into the agreement to purchase the domain, I had the obligation to give him what he paid for, which I did. The contract of sale has been perfected, the moment these two were completed:

    1. Payment
    2. Object bought received

Hence, my obligation as a seller has ended the moment the goods reached the hands of the buyer.

I am not an experience seller, but I don't think this is a common practice that once the buyer has problems with his host, he will return what he bought back to the seller. That problem with his host is for him and his host to settle. The seller is not a privy to that. And threatening the seller is not a good action either.

Have you encountered anything like this before
Should I refund him the money?
Do you think this is another scam, that he might not give the domain after the refund just in case i decide to refund?

I have been scammed recently, and here I am again with this kind of problem. Indeed not too welcoming for a newbie in the buy and sell business.

Your opinions are appreciated. Thank you.

It's not right for him to do this. He paid for the domain, and you have nothing to do with any scripts he installs. Have you tolled him this?

Well, if it's not your problem then you shouldn't. Contact PapPal and explain this situation to them.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I see the domain perfectly working on his host now. Perhaps it was really just a matter of waiting for the configuration to take effect. But he was impatient. Anyway I hope
he won't ask for a refund now that the hosting is fine. :)
