You mean you applied to edit a category and never heard back? You can get ask about that at resource-zone. Good luck, we need you. :)

Yep for editing a category, They replied back with an email saying I have been shortlisted but since no news.
I will probably put the content of that mail and ask them what happend to it.

Unfortunately DMOZ gives the impression that RZ is the official ODP forum. May be we should start a new DMOZ forum for the editors without mental problems. ;)

Why do you have respect for individuals? some of those individuals participate in other forums, including this one and their behavior was no different here than in RZ. In my opinion the RZ mentality is the summation of all the participating individual editors character and mental problems.

I've never heard of anyone being "shortlisted". Perhaps you have misinterpreted something? Are you able to post the exact wording of the email?

After you read the guidelines and see examples of how sites are listed, apply for a small (may be local) directory with no editor. You will see there is no editor in a cat when there is a note on the page saying something like "Volunteer to be an editor...". Your chances to be accepted will be much hgher. There is basically no chance to get started as a newbie in higher lever cats. Once you prove your abilities, it will be much easier to go up the ladder.

Even when you go through the proper channels (starting with a small category) it takes forever for anything to happen in Dmoz.
