Following the recent PR update my inner pages went from PR0 to PR4, but yet my index page, which was PR1 stayed at PR1

    Can anyone explain this?

    Thanks in advance

Maybe your backlinks are pointing to inner pages instead of index page..

I think update will take another week or so to settle down.

    Who really knows?

Let us just call it a 'blessing in disguise', in that, you were actually updated with PR to begin with.

I've never heard of Google responding to PR question's about specific sites. You have a better chance at getting a response from Matt Cutts on his blog ;)

I saw somewhere that Cutts said this pr update would last a few weeks before finalizing, is that correct?

If so, maybe this is the 'big daddy' pr update

And if it's anything like the big daddy serp/indexing update, things will be screwy for the next year or two... or maybe never work right again.

This has happened to my sites several times before. Although I don't have an explanation for the anomaly, what I have seen when this happens is that your homepage PR will eventually catch up with internal page PRs...most probably on the next PR update. I don't think this is something to be overly concerned about.

    U G H.

    PR5 -> PR1

God... google is killing me. I'm of the firm opinion their search is broken, and has been broken for months.

Several searches I have run into for recent events and such have returned virtually NOTHING on google, but tons on yahoo and msn. Google is broken, and continues to be broken, tired of it.. they need to fix it or just redirect to msn and get out of the way.

    Hi NDDB,
Can you tell me which searches didn't return anything on Google, but tons on Yahoo and MSN? Sounds interesting...I would love to bench mark this! my main sites ticketnest went 4->5, but my experimental site graphicdog.com went 0->6 . Go figure!

I had a couple sites do that to me at bigdaddy pr update, my homepages would stay at the pr or lack there of whereas my innerpages where all 5's and 6's.

On all sites the pages that did not change pr where indexed prior to bigdaddy, and the high pr inner pages where indexed in the bigdaddy datacenters for their first index in google.

It goes to show a couple of things, one toolbar pr means jack, cause if my homepage pr of 3 can pass pr 5's to most pages and 4's to other I guarantee you Google doesn't treat my homepage like a pr 3 and more like a 5 + internally.

Also somethings wierd with pages prior to BD.

Also your toolbar keeps reverting back because some of the DC's haven't been updated yet just like the big daddy pr update, and with what Matt Cutts is Saying, it will take a while for it to finalize.

Dont get me started on this, I been sweating BLOOD
Basically my sites have jumped all over the place. One day a pr5, one day a pr6 one day a pr4 then back to 6

Does anyone know if its finished as everytime I am login, I am scared that a bunch of customers (I sell links) are going to burn me at the stake as my pr has dropped
