ya its common to have different name. for example here we call our country Bharatvarsha (named after the king Bharat), India is the name given by the west (named after the river Indus), while the muslims called it Hindustan (named after the religion).

anyway in USA specialy sought of California you can find a lot of Iranian. I have some families there too.

I think most of them left Iran around the time that the Shah was deposed and they just don't want to be identified with the current regime.

I can't blame them, but I still find it humorous. I am embarrassed as hell by the U.S. government, but I don't try to deny that I was born in the U.S.

I believe it -- one of the top search queries for FortLiberty is "iranian sex". :D

yeah same as you. name of Bharat is beautiful.

seems name of Hindustan belong to before Islam.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindustan

yeah the name of Iran has old history.

yeah you can't find another name for your country but Iranian can! lol just kidding.
agree with you but guess Iranian don't like to look as terrorist and try to live in peace with American in USA. Persian is a race too and could call it nationality so in this way they didn't tell lie! or hope didn't!

back to that poor lady, no any new news?

    thanks for update.
seems this case became a field for political challenge and showing power. so bad situation for Asia and non Muslim in Pakistan.
I wander why such number of people rush to streets for such no important case and want to kill that innocent woman with 4 children. Protest for kill some one is particular especial when that guy didn't harm anyone.

yeah right but seems Muslim unwilling to read this stories to know Islam history.
what Mullah say to people is quite different from these stories.
then in the mind of Muslims, Islam is religion of peace, dignity and mercy so why such demonstration by Muslim people!!!

This woman is just one of the reasons why we in the West must never accept "political correctness" and the death of free speech. Once we accept the false premise that free speech is immoral, we create the necessary conditions to reduce our grand civilization to the primitive level of Pakistan.

While religious fundamentalists are threatening anarchy, there's still hope. I thought this sounded promising:

It would be nice if some civilized government would accept Ms. Bibi as a religious refugee.

I would appreciate if you refrain to Islam and not other religions. In Hinduism there is no punishment of immediate death or cutting of hands. The Gita says any deed which is against law of nature you will earn bad karma which will ultimately catch you sooner or later and i believe this is perfect in present context.

The response to the poll is overwhelmingly in favor of no death penalty but does anybody know who said YES?

Yes, it's a public poll. The person who voted yes would have done so entirely by accident - they are definitely someone who believes that NO, nothing bad should happen to the woman.

And all the West does is sign petitions and whine a little. There is much to be said for both ways of life. One side cherishes their lives so much they forget that lives without higher cause have no meaning (i.e. talk of human rights from a secular organization like the UN is laughable at best, since without a higher power there is no such thing as "rights", only privileges). Others focus so much on what they believe matters that they stomp on another person's life.

Despite being a Christian myself, I think if she really did say those things, she should of been prepared for the consequences. She was under a different country's laws. Much of the hooplah about this one killing of a person who may have knowingly and intentionally broke the morality laws of a different country are from people who cheer for the senseless deaths of millions in no-win wars trying to "force democracy" on another country. (which resulted in Hitler the last time we tried that).
