To buy a website to push another existing one via 301 redirects

Hi

I have a website since many years, with a good seo and with nice positions on the SE. This website is about cars. I don't have any forum and I would like to create one.

I know the owner of an other "car" website. This website is a forum. It exists since many years and its SEO is good. Its trafic is good too.

My question is: Would it be interesting fo me to buy its website ? Then I would put all this "new" forum content on my website doing 301 redirects. So each page of the old site would have the corresponding ones on my site.

Then I would have
- a working and activ forum
- the benefit of all the SEO work done on the old site

What do you think? Good or bad idea?

Ya, it seems like a good idea. You'll not only own several hundreds of web pages from the forum, but also get a boost in web traffic from the forum to your website. You can also 301 redirect "old" forum content to your website so that you can have everything under one domain.

 

Yes that is the idea...

but the question is : is it better to get one very big website or 2 big ones... I mean in term of income...

 

Of course, one big website for one niche (in your case, cars).
