Yep along with Great White Sharks and Blue Ring Octopus and the RedBack Spider.....there's nothing to worry about! You would have more chance getting hit in the back of the head with a thong in the shape of a boomerang! :D

"Red-back spiders are now found in all but the most inhospitable environments in Australia, particularly in urban and suburban areas."

Oh dont forget about the "Australasian funnel-web spider" :p They are also mostly on the east side though its ok..

BTW How does london fit his description? Id imagine london being expensive as hell :p

Stories of drop bears are often told to unsuspecting foreign visitors to illustrate Australian deadpan humour.

I think youve made my mind up, i dont wanna move to Australia. :p

Forget NZ - Live in Australia and enjoy many comfortable years in beautiful weather (unlike the weather found in the UK and NZ) and when your not enjoying the beautiful weather you tell tall stories about the infamous Australian dropbears or if that doesn't take your fancy you can just rip on the Kiwis like the rest of the country does!

    :D

Maybe you want to do some research on Malaysia. It is not cold, almost at all, and mostly hot. I think it's temperature is quite fair to live in. There's 3 main races in Malaysia, and the government are quite stable. Fair medical care, not too bad, but normally people prefer to go oversea when there's a BIG BIG operation. Shopping should be no problem. We have a few big malls, like KLCC and MegaMall. Basically, things in Malaysia is extremely cheap, compare to other countries. Let's compare.

    USD 1 = RM3.8

Average price of a newspaper in Malaysia = RM1

The best thing to be proud of Malaysia is, there is no earthquake, no volcano and other terrible disaster.

Lol thats probably the worst place for him.
    • Have a good climate. Not too cold; not too hot. NO
    • Have a stable, but small, government. Not too fascist, not too anarchistic. No religious governments, please. NO
    • Not tax income made overseas. That's pretty important for web publishers. NO
    • Have good access to quality medical care. That's pretty important for old web publishers. YES
    • Have good access to shopping. That's pretty important for married web publishers. YES
    • Have reasonable real estate prices. Some very shabby countries have outrageous prices for reasonable decent houses. NO
    • Have reasonable prices for goods. Basic goods are very expensive in some countries due to transportation costs, and very expensive in other countries due to crippling tarrifs. NO
Besides any money he has saved from America would be worth nearly 50% less.

Don’t come to Europe because it’s the same crap. Portugal and Spain are good places for people wanting to retire because they have a lot of sun, golf, shopping malls and tourism.

Singapore is very nice. I don't know about the tax situation there.

My wife didn't like the idea of India or the Philippines. I may make another try with her regarding the Philippines though.

She loved the idea of Jersey, but I received a response to my letter to Jersey's immigration department which basically said "We're full; sod off."

A friend is trying to get me involved in a business deal in Costa Rica, so I'm going to look into that a bit more. :)

The are other Channel Islands apart from Jersey, though you'd have to check the tax status. The Isle Of Man in the Irish sea is also well known as a tax haven.
