Mother may be hanged for blasphemy - No prizes for guessing the religion

Yayy, it's islam, the religion of peace..... again!

In this village in Pakistan's Punjab province a tearful 12-year-old girl ponders if the Pakistani government will soon hang her mother.

"Whenever I see her picture I cry," Isham Masih told CNN. "I want my mother back. That's what I'm praying for."

This month a Pakistani court sentenced Isham's mother, 45-year-old Asia Bibi, to death, not because she killed, injured or stole, but simply because she said something.

"She said your Muhammad had worms in his mouth before he died," Satar told CNN, a crude way of saying Muhammad was no prophet.

The town cleric, who made the initial complaint against Bibi, called her death sentence one of the happiest moments of his life.

"Tears of joy poured from my eyes," Qari Salim told CNN.

The clerics tears are in stark contrast to those shed by Bibi's daughter Isham, who wants her mother to live.

This is so sickening. Please petition to save the life of Asia Bibi. On this site, I found information with the email of the Pakistani president, and have written an email for her sake. In addition, I have written to the White House, explaining they need to intervene, and especially as it stands, I do not care to have my tax dollars spent in any aid for Pakistan.

p.s. On the site about the petition, it gives the email address to the Pakistani president. I used it, but am getting a message saying his inbox is now full. Not sure if I can publish emails in this post, so, here's another site that has a different email for him. I really hope that everyone will please take a moment and be so kind to send an email in support of Mrs. Bibi. (To Pakistan & leaders of your own country).

Fuck, the cleric saying that honestly makes me the angriest I've been in a long time. The lack of compassion for the woman and the child (what Muslims are most famous for after blowing themselves up) is sickening.

why the question of pardon comes in?? isnt the woman a victim. remember the source of the issue. some muslim women refused to drink water brought by her because she was a christan. now isnt that discrimination. and guess what she gets as justice.

according to sharia law if a Muslim deny any principals of Islam should encounter with dead penalty and because Bibi is a Christian, she must not dead.

it is mentioned in your law for non-Muslims? surely non-Muslims don't believe Mohammad was God's messenger.

What is Islam? Quran and word of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is called Islam. You will not found such kind of punishment in Quran or Hadis any where. I know the Blasphemy Law is the part of Sharia. BTW, Sharia Law still considered the most soft among Blasphemy Law as compare to Judicial, Christianity and Hindunism because In Sharia, a person who has committed blasphemy can either be killed or crucified, or his opposite hands and feet can be cut off, or he can be exiled from that land. (Depend on person to person, soft punishment for woman and hard for men) On the other hand, in other religions there is no other option except capital punishment. Shairaat least has four options of punishment for an act of blasphemy.

no body is deviating. we are talking about blasphemy only. every religion has its own share of sin. be it christanity, hinduism or whatever. but with time all religion has changed except for islam. can you show me in the last 50 years how many ppl a christan state or a hindu state (nepal was the last hindu state, now theres none) has put to gallows due to blasphemy. calculate the same for a islamic state and you will know what i mean.
