I think a static landing page is better than like blog style. Blog style is not useful for business purposes in my opinion and you should use a more professional design.

A static page is good if you are going for a blog or site for official purposes.

Static page is ok, because you can sum up why your site rocks and why should they visit the other parts of the site. But if they jump right into the blog where a post is on the top which is not interesting then they may leave

I posted a similar question on Google board,
surprisingly people on Google board mostly prefer dynamic homepage,
    this is rather strange.

    Dear Friend,

I want to suggest you that we should optimize static landing page , the reason behind is that static page is read by search engine with very ease.

In my experience, static pages are always better for SEO.... If you are planning on blogs, be ready to update it frequently... Static pages can be good for sales and blogs as content resources

But do remember that even wordpress blog posts and pages are served as static pages. Only thing is that they can be dynamically generated. Also blogs tend to be indexed faster due to the ping functionality.

Yeah, if you're making a website and not a blog, you should always use a static page. You will have more control over the static page and it would be preferable for it's formal design and structure or anything you want to make it.

However, talking about SEO, blog pages are generally better in SEO than Static pages. Blog pages have density and have much interaction along with people and visitors.

Just link your blog page towards your static homepage, that would do the job though.

You're absolutely right, wordpress blogs posts get indexed faster due to the ping functionality,
what I'm comparing here is the frontpage: static vs dynamic, and the winner is static.

I agree that blog post pages are generally better in SEO than Static pages,
but what I'm comparing here is the blog frontpage: static vs dynamic,
and the winner is static for sure.
