I get what your saying but you didnt understand my point. Im not saying Autotrader is the best place to advertise, Im saying its infinitely better than anything Google has to offer. If I thought Autotrader was a good business I would have not started my own www.justgoodcars.com, we are free of charge, worldwide, 8 millions cars online and millions of customers a month. My point is that Google should be directing cusomers to car trading sites of local dealer sites. its unrealistic to ask customers to browse for example 10 local dealers sites when the job is combined into one search in a car trading sites such as cars.com, autotrader or JustGoodCars Do you see what im saying? drhowarddrfine I will respond to you when I have 20 mins to spare, your responses are not actually correct, I appreciate the response and you have some valid points, but I do know the industry I have been in for 15+ years.
According to a post on the Google Small Business Blog paid local listing are being expanded to San Jose, Seattle, Wichita, Charlottesville (VA), Atlanta, Chapel Hill, Orlando, Washington D.C., Boston, Cross Plains (TX) and Portland (ME). We’ve also made Boost available for all local businesses in Illinois. It was just a matter of time before Google realized that they had a goldmine with local traffic and that small business owners could be a new revenue stream. Let's face it most of the sites like Digg and Craiglist that are referral traffic sources for us, get a substantial portion of their traffic from the Google organic search listings.
yes soon all of first page will be paid ads great for Google, bad for regular searchers, bad for micro business on a small budget, bad for webguys like us, I really believe this is the wrong way to for Google. I am all for good organic local searches but the map sucks big time, and more paid spots suck big time. I think this actually hurts small business as it used to be at least google seacrh was open to anyone willing to learn to good rankings now it for people with big pockets.
It's all about the mighty dollar, they could careless about what webmasters think... http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=Articles.showArticle&art_aid=139791
Why is it that, whenever anyone can't back up what they say, they call you a troll instead of facing up to the facts?
Nowdays Google vs Google 15 years ago are totally different approaches. They started to make search better, but end-up care about $$$ only. All they do now is just put more paid places and less for organic results (reminds me Netscape). It may be good for short term to gain more $, but long term google helps their competitors. I searched one of my websites on Google and Bing and see below the results for the same search term: Even my website is 2nd in organic search on Google, the physical placement is at the bottom of the page. 80% of Google page are paid placement + local businesses (soon paid as well) I like more results from Bing. They deliver same quality, but less paid junk. I selected in green square paid+local businesses and in red my website
Dude what is your problem? that post wasn't meant for you, that was on a different topic, quit trolling my post's you clown.... Arguing over nothing, get a life...
Imagine that. A company that cares about making money. Who would figure. I'm glad no other company cares about making money and do it for charity only. Netscape was a browser, not a search engine. Google is 20-30x more used than Bing so of course they have and can sell more ads, but Google does a better job of weeding out garbage web sites like yours that sell no products or services. Good for them!
Simple. You picked the fight in the first place, tried to justify it with words but no facts. I'm not trolling. Anybody could have posted the same thing and I would have responded the same way.
We're talking about search engines you moron lol... pick a fight? what are you like 12? Quit trolling and move on, it's not that serious
See what I mean? I just don't understand that. Actually, I do, but won't go into it beyond what I already said.
Netscape was not only browser, but SE #1 on these days, as well as altavista and few others. It is clear that company must be profitable, but profit and customer satisfaction/good product should go together, and this is what nowdays google is missing. They now concentrating on new revenue streams more then on any other aspect. When you open page with 80% of advertising what you think about that website? and this is what is google today.
What drhowarddrfine send you here to call me an idiot? sticking up for your buddy? get lost clown... This is a simple SE thread, and this moron is in here arguing with every single person in here that has a different view then his, that my friend is a troll. Took a simple thread about a SE and turned it into a school yard fight, you clowns need to grow the hell up... If you can't accept other peoples opinions, then you're in the wrong place... This is all I said about this simple thread, and this clown has been trolling me for days, over a subject that really shouldn't have more then one post...
I believe you started the stupidity with this quote. If you cant add anything decent shut the hell up. If you want to complain about threads go attack the 50 pagerank threads. You are entitled to an opinion but if your just going to attack then you will get attacked back. go find something useful to do
This is my post you moron, "Google is trying too hard to be like Microsoft, and monopolize a market" then that idiot started to attack me in the very next post, just like he attacked everybody else that posted in this thread. I didn't say that until i read three of his attack post, so don't come in here with that weak stuff, to try and defend your buddy.... You forum cowboy's kill me
