Selling Confessions.net - Aged Site, 1000 visits per day

Confessions.net is listed #1 in Google for "confessions", is Google PR 3, and I have never done any seo work or promotion for it. I started the Confessions.net site in 2006 by buying 4000 confessions from another confessions site that went out of business and putting them on the Confessions.net domain which I had already owned, and since then it has grown to have over 25,000 confessions. I do almost nothing to run the site. When I first started it, I used to manually approve the confessions before they were added, but after a few years I changed it to automatically post the confessions. The only thing I have to do is once every month or so I get a request from somebdy to remove a posting, and that only takes me a few minutes. I also sometimes check the postings to make sure there isn't anything to spammy or offensive. The site is run using this script http://phpmonster.com/make confessions script and will work on any Linux server that has php and mysql (almost all servers have this).

The site gets around 1000 visitors a day, broken down as follows: Search
Engines (54.45%), Direct Traffic (23.05%), Referring Sites (22.50%). Each
user averages 10.54 pages per visit and stays on the site an average of 7
minutes and 14 seconds. The only ad I run on the site is a 160x600 banner
from BidVertiser.com which had 246,327 impressions last month, 28 clicks,
and made $2.21. Instead of running an ad, it might do well to promote other sites a webmaster owns.

The reason I am looking to sell is that somebody else could be making a lot
more money from the site, so it is a waste for me to own it. I am not sure
what it is worth, but I am interested in taking offers for it.

Website price is negotiable, But keep in mind the domain is a good one at should be worth atleast $3k, Also the content is all unique, and it holds a strong position in google.

2. Whats the popups from? (hyper....)

You said it was just the bidvertiser ad though i get a popup from the above link if i click on a diff page.

3. Who is the domain registered with?

4. Lastly can you confirm the site is yours by uploading a text file with your username on it to /dp.html?

I am guessing that you are attempting to broker the site? If you do own it please verify the domain and post accurate stats. I also see it for sale... elsewhere...

Also the UV is right there on the statistics posted above, 32k UV for that period.

 

You accepted a bid of $500 in a no reserve auction, so you are obligated to sell at that price if there are no other bidders. I am interested in making a bid, but I would like to know if you are going to honor the auction process or not before investing much time in researching this site.

 

I am the owner of Confessions.net. I did ask Nick to help me find a buyer for this site, but I did not authorize him to do a no reserve auction. I assume he did that by mistake because he did not understand how the auction system works on this forum. I am looking to sell the site the $10,000 range, but am open to any offers close to that. The domain alone is worth $5,000 - $10,000 (just in the past few weeks I sold Jogging.net for $8,500, Diapers.net for $10,000, and Hormones.net for $7,000, and all of those were just domains with no sites on them), and the exclusive database of 25,000 confessions and the #1 ranking in Google are worth a significant amount also.

 

As ive clearly asked earlier can a picture of analytics be uploaded (emailed to me, whichever is easier) showing UV's for the last month.

That is info you enter manually and is not proof hence why ive asked for a picture.

would like to know how much for just the domain... also have to ask - what is going to happen if the highest bid on the close date only reaches (example) $2k ? Will the bid be honored?

site is not suitable for adsense....there is load of sick stuff (child sex stories, incest) which wud get you banned in a heat beat.
the real value of site is in domain only. but as owner said that he is looking for 10k offers...its really over priced.
