Well guys, Thought that i would share the good news in that i have managed to get my football news website into Google News at the first time of trying. Got the confirmation email back this morning and so have a couple of days to sort myself out and then get posting, should be great for the site as i post between 5-10 posts per day on it so hopefully should increase traffic for me.
Congratulations! That must be quite a rush. Hope you get loads of traffic from it. I'll keep an eye out for ya on GN. It so happens I'm gearing up for a submission myself. Wish me luck.
Thanks mate, i have worked on the site every day for a month to get it to the point of where it needs to be and it took only 48 hours to be accepted into the index that they use. I should have the site in there and set to be scanned within the next 3 days according to the email so i will let you know if the traffic is truly worth all the effort that has been placed into the site. Shame that i was looking to sell the site before this happened too! lol Just increased in value now!
congratulation!!! btw, is it new domain or old... how many time you manage it?? and is your article starting with 5 article's daily for first posting or only view days/view week before submit into gnews??
The domain was bought just over 4 weeks ago but i have worked almost every spare moment that i have had on the site to make sure that i am getting the news on there for the readers. The posting on the site is done with a very minimum of 5 posts per day and sometimes i will really open up the speed and cover up to 15 articles in one night if i feel that the news needs to be reported. As for the question about views that you are asking, i'm a little confused but will say that inclusion into Google News has nothing to do with the number of visitors that you have to your site. But if your asking how many i have at the moment, so far this month i have had over 6,000 uv and should hit 10,000 mark or more by the close of the month.
Congrats and nice site. Getting in GN is a real achievement to be proud of. Keep us posted on how it helps with traffic.
Lol no i'm not a journalist but i do have some contacts both within the clubs as well as on the training field so often speak to them to get wind of some of the breaking news, other than that, the internet is full of sites just like mine that are informed by the clubs and media about stories so its a case of finding those and then putting your own spin on the story.
That is good for you dude, you hard work that's why you get that opportunity and great future. More traffics come sooner for you. -if you want to have also a better listings in Google News you must always have a bright idea of article and keep the contents/body in very clean way, always do check your encoding, separate the press release from its original content. Such will help you guys to be successful also.
Thanks for all the positive feedback from you all, it just goes to show that you work hard and you get what you want.
Congrats..... But I've some question....how big is your football site?? because football news are quite competitive niche...
Hi there, My football site is not huge to be honest just yet, after all its only a little over a month old. The thing is that the content on the site is of high quality and we are able to obtain insider information from a couple of our sources within the clubs. Not too sure what you mean by the niche is competitive as that will not effect whether the news stories would be selected to be added to the news reel.
Thanks, i am very excited about the prospect but that has thrown a spanner in the works as i was looking to sell the site not too long ago but as you can imagine, now the site will carry more value. My personal time is limited at the moment and so i am having to find time where i can to ensure that the site is getting the minimum 5 posts per day added to it. But not sure i can now allow this site to leave now that i have got it into Google News. I have also applied to have the domain added to DMOZ as well as looking to be included into NewsNow, another large news portal. The site has strong links coming into it, as well as the fact that it is now in Google News so i can't help but feel that should i continue to improve the site and further the potential, i will be really on to a good thing.
