^spot on will... Guns kill people, like spoons make people fat !! Don't know how many times i have to say it..... Guns aren't the problem, stupid people are! Don't punish me cause you can't handle it.
And since America has pretty much the highest murder rates of av developed countries I guess you'd pretty much would have completely killed each other off if you hadn't had all your lovely guns (and bibles).
i dont prefer guns because,now everyone gets temperamental quickly,if someone accidently push you on street, you kill him/her
As a child and teenager i was in numerous fights, but then i had to stop because my parents were freaking out. I can't take hits that good, but i'm bi-polar and i can sure knock the breath out of ya. I try not to fight these days though, it's just pointless.
On the contrary my good man, in a fully armed society people do not wander the streets bullying those smaller than themselves, because in a fully armed society -- everyone is equal. That bully who would normally be mugging little old ladies and raping young girls -- in a fully armed society he realizes that this isn't going to work and he stays home and tries to fix his own problems. Or, he crosses the line one time -- but no more than one time. Sure. I've been living in two kind of countries : One where firearms were prohibited and quite well restricted, another one where guns were supposed to be prohibited but everybody coud have it. I prefered the first one, cause there, I never had to face a guy pointing a gun at me for a couple of bucks.
Monty: That makes complete sense -- in the second county only outlaws had guns because gun were outlawed. Therefore, all outlaws have nothing to fear from honest citizens. Of course you are going to have rampant lawlessness when you outlaw firearms. You've just eliminated the right to self-defense, which is a criminals dream!
Yes, it is man, which sucks, because the government can't do anything to protect you from these kinds of ppl But hey, it's your choice

Will.Spencer : Believe it or not, but there is countries where getting a gun is really really difficult (or at least very expensive). In those countries only the really motivated bad guys have guns. The other ones got only theirs fists or knives (and this, I can manage most of the time). I'm not fond of self-defense with guns (aka self-justice) netheir of citizen-justice, milicia and the like. If "honest citizens" have guns, what's happen ? There is more firearms around and it's easier for bad guy to get one and to use it.
Actually, if "honest citizens" have guns, the bad guys don't get to rob and steal guns. They get to try once or possibly twice, and then they get a dirt nap. What really happens is that the bad guys quicky realize that being bad guys isn't such a good idea any more and they stop being bad guys. Bad guys aren't dumb. They are bad guys because the laws encourage them to be bad guys. If the laws encourage them not to be bad guys, they will adopt other behaviors.
A funny story for you : My father bought a gun, cause the country was insecure. He think, with this, I will be able to protect my family.. you know this kind of stuff. During daytime, everybody was off, robbers come to my home and stole the gun. One month later, this gun was used for a murder... (My father got some bad time with officials...) So countries allowing guns for (almost) everybody and severe punishment (let's say death punishment) would be the more secure places on earth with the smarter bad guys ? Interesting...
