What is the difference between White hat SEO and Brown hat SEO?

brown hat? Lol I heard about grey hat but have no idea what brown hat is!

 

I don't think Brown hat SEO exists. White hat is (+), Black hat is (-) And Gray hat is (+-). Others sounds bogus to me.

Only ever heard of black, white and grey hat.....

Meh, I've never heard of any colors other than white, gray, and black.

White = SEO tactics that Google does not frown upon.
Gray = SEO tactics that Google might not like, but they have never really came out and talked negative against it
Black = SEO tactisc that Google is blatant about and if you're ever caught performing them would quickly get your website taken out of their Search Engine.

 

Geez... I think its not brown hat but grey hat, eh. Well I can't define these terms by their technical meanings but I can probably compare them to hacking. You see there are also different colors of hacking just like in SEO. White hat hacking can be consider as ethical hacking (those people who hacked for the benefit of the companies or of their sites with no strings attached or without bad effects to others). And there is black hat hacking which others called "cracking", this is unethical hacking, the opposite of course of white hat hacking ( ex. is Kevin Mitnick and Kevin Poulsen's hacking techniques). Then the middle of these two is the grey hat hacking wherein the hacker will tell a site owner that there are many vulnerabilities in his/her site but the hacker can strengthen it providing the site owner will pay him, (this is good hacking with strings attach). So probably the concept of these three colors of hacking can also be attributed to SEO (maybe).

 

I can only imagine what brown hat must mean. lol

No such thing as brown hat, there is white hat seo where you try and make pages for humans, black hat seo where you make pages for the search engines (and could get you in trouble) and blue hat which is a mixture of the two

Yep... how people change black to brown to pass onto unsuspecting people like the author... I just don't know.

 

White Hat SEO is a sophisticated script used to help organize the world's information. A tool used to find information.No idea about brown hat seo.

All I know is a Black Hat not a Brown Hat. If that is the same then it is me who don't know it. LOL
