    What can I say? Gtech's a great teacher :D

There you go spinning the facts like usual lorien - he committed no crime, however your pal in florida foley did. Get it straight

Still trying to spin the truth I see. He served the full sentence for child molestation.

Glad to see this is how you repubs handle things. When you get caught covering up a child molestor amongst yourselves, you play the "well somebody else did it to (20 years ago)!! :D

Did I say he didn't? He was still a child molestor and was pardoned. He no longer has to report as a sex offender. Are you okay with that?

Studds took a minor out of the country, got him drunk and had sex with him. He was censured. Then re-elected 6 times. Glad you have no problem with any of that. It's good to know.

so, in short. Ferret would have less of a problem with it if a democrat did it, because the party is not full of "fundies" interesting.

But, alas, yo-yo has no problem with a congressman getting a page drunk then having his way with him...as long as he's legal

My own personal opinion doesn't matter. One of them happened 20 years ago and didn't break the law, the other happened 3 years ago and was covered up by numerous republicans still holding office.

All you're doing is trying to make you own pal in florida look less bad, how nasty of you trying to protect a sexual predator and criminal

I'm not even defending him, yo. I think he's a piece of shit. My problem comes in with the moral high mindedness of the leadership of the other party, who enabled a predator (studds) for 12 years after this happened.

You complain about 3 years. I complain about 12. And I complain about a convicted molestor who was pardoned, who no longer has to register.

Republicans booted their problem out. Democrats re-elected theirs not once, twice or three times. But 6 more times. They also voted him into leadership positions. And they pardoned a convicted sex offender to boot.

And in your single minded idiocy, you cannot see the obvious problems here.

    Another excellent post, Lorien.

I am amazed at how willing some people are to turn off their brains in order to play partisan politics. It's actually depressing how far we have fallen intellectually since our nation was founded by a few great men in the late 1700's.

Only if you're too lazy to research.

Rather than have a valid debate, liberals just challenge every source, taking away from valid discussion. Research it on your own, and if you find something DIFFERENT, then challenge him on it.

Asking for a source is supposed to ONLY occur when you CANNOT find information on the topic yourself. Or if you have difficulty. But instead, we can't say one thing on these forums without a "where's your source".

Atlanta is in Georgia. "OMG! WHERE'S YOUR SOURCE?!".

Just type in studds on google. He rapes a 17 year old and gets three standing ovations from democrats. The state he was in, had lower consensual sex laws, but it is still vastly more EVIL than any wrongdoing PROVABLY attributable to foley. Which is a message held back by Soros' strike team until november. Soros being the sole largest liberal financier, who said we need to repudiate the war on terror.

The main difference here: when Republicans learn of it, Mark Foley is RESIGNED within 2 hours! When democrats learn of it, they give three standing ovations, and re-elect him 6 times.

I'm a bit surprised at the reaction.

I read something in print the other day (and can't remember the source-and haven't been able to pull it up) that referenced a history of politicians and people who work in the political side of the government that were found to have committed some kinds of sex crimes of various levels.

It listed both Democrats and Republicans. It went back to probably the 70's. I don't think there were more from either party and the article didn't stress that one party had more dirt bags then the other.

It also referenced two little analytical points of note.

    1. Republicans seemed to suffer more (they were kicked out of office or resigned or jail) more than democrats of the total.

    2. It analysed all the cases and suggested that reasons that republicans suffered more was because of an added burden of being from the party that espouses family values--thus there was an hypocracy element added to the crime.

Both parties have dirt bags. If the authorities for that elected official or government office don't act on the person immediately then the authorities are engaged in some type of crappy cover-up for political reasons only.

Authorities should be held accountable and act immediately in all the cases.

Politically, I thought Hastert was smart. He reversed blame comments, took some level of responsability and is rerunning for office.

From a purely political stance that is smart. Defuse the issue.

From a governmental perspective that is appropriate for all such dirt bag issues.

Now an investigation will ensue to the extent to see if the powers to be knew of the Foley issue earlier (much earlier/a little earlier/or just learned of it.)

Actually as the republicans found out they simply told each other about it, and covered it up. Only after it came out through the media did the republicans do anything (which was fingerpointing at each other, then trying to divert attention to dems)

You know. If we tie it all together. If the Israeli's had only gotten the Hezbollah people drunk and had their way with them (at least the 17 year olds), he might have been on the other side a few months back :p

I've always found you a little "different."

Have you ever said anything good about America yet? Or should I give up hope?
