yeah thats really great, but how many of those "al-Qaeda's highest-ranking members" were in Iraq and how many of those " Islamist schools" were in Iraq?

It's irrelevant. This is a global war. Iraq is just one front. We're fighting the Islamists in almost every country on the planet.

There is no "home base" where you can yell "safe" in this war.

I'll bet its not irrelevant to the Iraqis blown up and maimed in the war, so far Iraq has created more Islamists, that generally not what you want to do in war, swell the ranks of your enemies.

    yo-yo:

That is not correct, and you should know better.

We are fighting the Islamists in both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

However, in both of those places we are doing it with the current government, instead of against the current government.

Islamists have been captured and killed in both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and their operations in both countries have been seriously injured.

Pakistan isn't the best place on earth, but Musharraf is holding it together the best that he can.

We allied ourselves with Stalin to win WWII. Stalin murdered twenty million of his own people because he was worried that they were unfaithful to him.

    That's politics.

yo-yo, we conduct joint operations with the Pakistani government to capture or kill terrorists inside Pakistan. If there was proof that bin Laden was in Pakistan, we and the Pakistanis would jointly act to kill or capture him.

You really need to learn to differentiate between a country as a geographic entity and a nation-state as a political entity.
