CTR on forums - is it generally lower?

    CTR is lower on most forums because of the high percentage of return visitors. Even if return visitors are interested in some ads, they certainly are not going to click each time they visit the forum site. To be a successful Adsense site, there must be a high percentage of unique/new visitors seeing the ads for the first time.

    I dont have many return visitors. There is a lot of content kind of a one stop shop. But not many returns, I'm thinking of a complete redesign of my fourms.

    Yes it is true CTR for forums is horrid. I have 3 forums with a combined CTR of a whopping .67-1%. Just glad to see this is the case for most forums and not just mine. I'm moving on to other types of sites, as suggested.

    i saw a topic here showing the biggest 8 premium adsense publishers and shawn (DP owner ) was number 8

    so, adsense in forums brings money !!!

    Digitalpoint gets an amazing amount of traffic that other sites probably don't even get close to. You're forgetting other factors. =X

    That's an awesome CTR. :confused: Is it mainly unique visitors or is it based around mostly the same users coming back?
