I think bounce rate was calculated with Avg time on site?

my Avg time on site was 00.02.36 but my bounce rate was still 81 %

can any tell how to reduce this

    thanks in advance

Bounce rate is rate of user who didn't visit other page of website by total users.

Suppose, 100 user came to your site from Google search and in that 81 users closed your site and 19 users clicked on inner link of your website and moved to other page of your website. Then it called as 81% bounce rate for your site. In short, 81% users just saw landing page and moved to other website.

Bouncing rate can be reduced by showing related pages' link in landing page. You can show some offers/ good images to attract users to surf other pages of your website.

You can check website http://news.worldsnap.com. It has 55% to 65% bounce rate. In news page, its showing many related links which leads users to visit other page of websites.

Bounce rate less than 65% can be count as good website.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page.
Use this metric to measure visit quality - a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors. The more compelling your landing pages, the more visitors will stay on your site and convert. You can minimize bounce rates by tailoring landing pages to each keyword and ad that you run.
Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised in the ad copy.
