Hi everyone, I have a mailing list of up to 150 thousand users (nothing illegal, they have opted in by themselves). The problem is that the ISP has blocked us from using their mail services because of the load, and the newsletter has to go pretty much daily , or every2-3 days. My question is, how would you send this amount of email, in the cheapest way possible? What's your favorite service for this, or is there any cheap hosting out there that won't ban us ifwe use their mail services for this? Thanks in advance, sh.
There are programs you can install on your PC that will send them for you by turning your PC into a mail server. I wrote my own for my mac.
Yeah, any idea which ones, for example? Also, does your computer need like a connection with a real IP address or something like? furthermore, wont that somehow be sending mail from your ISP anyway?
Email service providers block emails comming from personal internet connections. You need a service like Mail Chimp or Aweber, they can handle your list size.
Why do you want so cheap when you have so many emails? Don't they make you enough money so you can do it properly and grow even bigger?
You'll have to research what works for the PC as I'm on a Mac and wrote my own. Obviously you need an ISP either way. Normally, regular email programs use your ISP's mail server, but my method bypasses their mail server and just uses the the ISP for connectivity. If you don't have a static IP address, get one. Then point your MX record to it so your emails are filtered for spam.
