    hi all,

the site is http://ilumu.com/ - what do you think about the layout and color scheme? are you also able to let me know if the ads are revelant to your location as it's meant to be geotargetted but i'm not convinced.

any additional feedback most welcome, and thanks in advance

Honestly, my first thought was why a site that checks to see if another is up or down; just ping it. BUT the more I thought about it the more I like it. I think the colors and ads are fine but the biggest issue you may face is people remembering the domain.

    Very impressive Alexa statistics BTW.

The site looks good ... my only dislike is that huge tag box with the last 100 searches. It's too large in my opinion. Ads seem to be just fine ... I'm from Romania , they're being displayed english and romanian alternatively .

Nice site, shame that you save the last 100searches.
This might be a privacy issue.

It's ok, but I don't like the "100 last searches", it just looks too spammy for me.

hi all, thanks for your kind comments - i've tried tidying it up to clean the last 100 searches.

hopefully it's less spammy now. i've also decided only to show the TLD on the recent searches to hide privacy as well.

I like the last searches it makes your site look active, regardless of what everyone else is saying. However it does look very busy, too busy which looks slightly like spam and shouldn't be the largest element on the page. The ad placement was fine for me and not intrusive. The monochromatic color scheme of blue is an excellent choice where most people will find they feel it's secure and trustworthy.

The part that stood the most out to me was the "Up or Down?" link. It blends in with the rest of the page and becomes drown out by the recent search links, which made it hard for me to accomplish my goal. If I were to suggest anything it would be making this call to action a lot stronger. After all it is the most important button on the site.

Aside from that, I would recommend social bookmarking icons and other icons in the footer to draw attention to it as this is your primary site navigation and is hidden. Icons are also helpful in most UX cases. Either way, it's looking good so keep up the good work.
