Well isn't that obvious? No one wins in a war.

 

Defeat ? Are you saying that your idols, the peace loving cave man are victorious ?

 

Yay! We get to be butchered by the Taliban! Yay! They get to keep us in poverty, Yay!

Some people get excited about the strangest things.

 

No one has been able to conquer Afghanistan. Russians tried and lost, USA has been defeated, who is next?

 

Last time I checked, Karzai runs Afghanistan, not the US. That hand off happened a log time ago. At this point Afghanis are just kicking their own ass, no matter who wins.

 

Karzai is a tool of USA who bought him into power. Your memory is also weak!

 

Perhaps you've missed the several elections that have been held in Afghanistan, that Karzai has won. Obviously you don't read the news, but the Obama admin wanted Karzai out of power, likely in favor of the guy that ran against him, but the USA didn't get its way. Afghanis chose Karzai, and now they get to deal with him, for better or worse. Either way, US troops will remain in Afghanistan as long as we feel it is in our own best interest to do so, and not a minute longer. I'd say it will be funny when we leave, but I really don't find one half of the population butchering the other half all that humorous. It is certainly what you are hoping and praying for.

According to documentation from the Nuremberg and Eichmann trials, the Nazi Germany SS helped finance al-Husseini's efforts in the 1936-39 Arab revolt in Palestine. Adolf Eichmann actually visited Palestine and met with al-Husseini at that time and subsequently maintained regular contact with him later in Berlin.

With the collapse of Nazi Germany in 1945, the Mufti moved to Egypt where he was received as a national hero. After the war al-Husseini was indicted by Yugoslavia for war crimes, but escaped prosecution. The Mufti was never tried because the Allies were afraid of the storm in the Arab world if the hero of Arab nationalism was treated as a war criminal.
