Can I even have a list without having my own website? You can - but the idea of a list is to create a group of people with similar interests that are going to trust you. With the number of people and sites online today - would you trust somebody who has no site and you can't check out easily? Before I spend my hard earnt $ - I always want to make sure I will get good value. Don't always succesd - but at least I try!
You can start building a list by having a squeeze page, something that entices the viewer to signup possibly for a free ebook, where they have to enter their details to get the ebook
1 - Get targeted traffic 2 - Create a squeeze page and offer them something for signing-up 3 - Create a autoresponder series OR broadcast them stuff once in a while 3.1 - Find some Joint Ventures and swap lists... (you'll need around 500 subscribers before you can do this, but it'll make your list grow very fast) 4 - Profit!
My best advice to you is, create a SPLASH /SQEEZE page and sign up for some really good traffic exchanges like Webbizinsider. Thats the only one i use right now but there are about 10 other top traffic exchange websites. On your splash page have an "OPT-IN" form. GURU's like FRANK KERN charges thousands of dollars for information that shouldn't be charged THOUSANDS$$$ I'm giving you the info free here at DP. 1) Create the splash page 2) Promote on traffic exchanges 3) promote with social media/social networks 4) Promote with Search engine optimization 5) its optional to promote with ppc Here , copy @TonyRobbins style splash page here ---> http://www.robbinsmadanestraining.com/jimsign1.html I believe FRANK KERN helped him create it..
