Blog Question: Is 1 quality article every 2 days enough?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by andyem, Oct 6, 2006.

I have started two blogs and was wondering if posting a unique 500-700 word article in my niche every two days enough to be considered an active blog. Should I be posting one per day?

My thought is to post one article every two days or so and be active commenting on my site in the days between. I will be posting something daily either a comment or article but is it enough?

My goal is to have a steady flow of content and traffic.

I think that is good. What is the topic for your blog? You may want to create backlinks though.

Id think so, especially if you can get people to comment about the article.

The topic of my blog is a finance theme. I will be submitting these articles also to article directories with links to my site.

As far as backlinks to you mean linking words within my article posted on my site to other pages or categories within my site?

Most important thing you can do is be consistent. Find the rhythm that works for you and stick with it. If you post every other day then your readers know to come back every other day. If they come back a few times and find nothing new they may get out of the habit.

Good advice. I have been publishing posts and editing the timestamp for a future time. Lets say I post three non article topics per day, I will post one immediately then randomize one for the afternoon and another between 12am-6am. When I get the articles I can add a 4th time to it so it averages 4 posts per day. To the reader it appears as if I'm living on the blog, day and night, which is the impression I want to give.

    The more, the better
If you can post 10 or 20 articles per day google will love you even more :D

LOL, I wish. I am getting my content written for me so that would be really costly. I have realized my weaknesses and writitng top notch articles is one of them. I guess as time goes on I could but I would rather have more articles being posted on different blogs I create.

I think 1 post a day should be a target for any bloger. Also find out if your $ returns are worth the time ur spending on writing/buying articles.

Posting consistency is the key for a blog to be considered active. One post per day would be very good but don't just stick with this policy. Someday it is possible that you may manage to write more than 1 post so post both of them on the same day. The more content the better it is for ur blog.

Well I need content so instead of giving poor quality content which I know I would produce I am instead buying it. At first the cost of articles - profits might leave me losing a bit of money but the one way links, eventual higher PR, and higher boost in traffic will all help me get towards my goal.

As for me, you can post several days really cool articles, like how to make $50k per month, where you will show you result of reaching the aim, and then stop writting for a couple of weeks - but you will have many interested visitors, who will like to know, are any news

Watch out that you don't shoot yourself in the foot with dup content penalties if you do that.

I am posting the article on my blog then digg.com then using iSnare to send them out to the directories. Is this not allowed?

I think he is just saying you should make sure all your content is unique, and not duplicates. If they ARE duplicates you can be dropped by google.

Unless you're time crunched, I think you should be posting at least once a day.

If i know I need to do something the next day or next few days I will post 6-8 not including the daily articles. 3-4 that day spread out throughout the day and the future post (timestamp) for the next day. The timestamp feature in wordpress is a godsent ;)

This might seem like an odd question, but why are you posting articles to a blog?

Blogs are supposed to be like a journal, tracking the progress of an experiment or adventure. Hence the term - web "log". They're supposed to be very personal sites, filled with diary like posts written from the owners point of view.

Wouldn't your content be better suited to a more standard type of site? Why did you choose a blog format?
