    HEllo Friends,

Please advise me on the legal aspects of displaying RSS content on one of our Site. As many of you may have noticed, the RSS content mostly opens under the Parent site's banner. Please help me out whether that could give rise to some legal issues.
Our Programmer is of the opinion that RSS content sent by websites for the very purpose of display on various websites, with a link back to the parent website.

    Any advice will be helpful.
    Thanks for your Time.

    Regards

    Prawin

if sites are publishing rss feeds I don't think there is any legal issue of using them on your site

My take is that once it's published it's in the public domain. You can reuse such content as long as you do not claim it as your own - retain references and links to the source of the data and give credit where it's due.

This is incorrect and yes if someone wanted to sue for you republishing their content they can. It is copyrighted material and you should kick whoever told you anything about public domain.

    I am with 30k Challenge.
The intended user of rss files is usually the end user, not another (foreign) web site.
it's copyright protected unless otherwise stated.
