compared to any other site, I think DP have more banned members. Why its happen ? I feel DP members are much polite and helpful.
DP enjoys very good rankings. So people Google something for a quick solution or for somewehre to spam. Find DP, don't read the rules and just post. Big audience = lucrative for spammers.
Bingo. DP receives very good rankings, and thus it targets a very large audience of people in search results: not just webmasters. When we have immature teens, foreigners who search for a keyword and end up on DP thinking the keyword they searched for is what they were actually looking for (I'm talking about foreign students and adults looking for general information, not those who are foreign webmasters and etc that find DP on purpose ), and other people come to forum and make a post, it's just spam really. Unless they're a webmaster or in an internet/online business, they won't know what they're talking about and they definately won't understand what we are talking about. And thus, that creates a problem with users and posts, which is spam. Being that DP gets such large amounts of traffic, user registrations, and posts daily, we cannot correct everybody, and the result will be an immediate termination (banning) of the user's account. I hope that's more thorough than Bubba Shawn's post.
I meant foreigners searching a specific term and DP showing up a result. I'm not talking about foreign webmasters just foreign countries getting results from keywords from DP..
I know people that have been banned for no reason, but i won't say too much i don't want it to happen to me!
That would come under the last bullet point here, it's our favourite and often utilized totalitarian can-get-away-with clause. It's quite good fun actually.
