Fast submission directories are spam?

I have seen many fast approval directories without ranking. I wonder how far Goolge is going to consider these fast approval directories backlinks.

No they are not spam but you don't know that how many of them will stay online for next months or maybe year . So its better buy a quality directory listing , it is little costly and less directories but you get guaranteed and good backlinks .

Its the dead links that Google does not like, not the amount of content.

Google does not care about how fast a link is accepted into a directory. It crawls the page when it wants to and discovers it then. However, the actual quality of the directory does matter; if the directory is of a spammy nature, Google will not look too favourably on the backlink.

And further to that - these 'instant approval directories' have no review process and are thus technically link farms - which for all intents and purposes is spam. A fast approval directory can still have a quality standard, but an instant approval can't.

I totally agree, you must look out for the ones that have an 'instant' approval. Proper review of sites is crucial to any directory claiming to be 'quality' and that, in my opinion should take at least one or two days.

I always look at the various links within a directory. If I see a lot of spammy sites then I don't submit. If it's obvious that someone is actually checking for quality then I go ahead. I recently submitted a website for a client to a website that was listed as instant submission but it actually took a week for the site to be listed because they were screening out spam.

There is no such a thing as "fast approval directories" but only idiots who owns them.

I'm talking about assholes who started directory instead of Gift Shop site and who had no idea
what is involved and how to manage and run it.

I remember submitting site to one of those using "Fuck you" title and "You fucking asshole" description
and guess what, next day it was published. Even after I sent email to owner, he kept entry for 3 days
probably because he had no idea how to delete it.

Now, how would you like to be listed next to something like that?

    ;)

Most of the times it is, but not always. It can also happen that the directory is newly started and the editor spends his quality time on the directory. And I've seen it work the other way as well. Many editors wouldn't bother moderating links and one fine day they blindly approve/disapprove the links submitted all at one go. So, doing a quality check on the directories before submissions is a must.

I think it is not about your directory submission why Google didn't indexed your site, I've tried auto submission and its doing good.

I think it is not a spam. But, submitting fast approval directories is worthless. Because, they don't have PR & index in any search engine. Some similar fast approval sites will have only same IP. So, even it has PR & cache date no use in submitting in same IP. It will be consider as only a single IP.
