I am just wondering on how you optimise and link build for a .com site ofr the English market? Does anyone have a list of .co.uk article directorie? Any help apprecaited.
I don't think it matters if you post your articles on .co.uk sites, you just need to make sure Google knows to rank your site on google.co.uk. You can define that somewhere within your Google Webmaster Tools account.
If it's a brand new site, it's a good idea to register a .co.uk domain and promote that instead of the .com which you can use as a satellite site. Buy local hosting (UK) and get as many backlinks from local sites as possible. Here are a few tips on finding them: search in Google for: your keyword "powered by wordpress" inurl:co.uk your keyword "powered by vbulletin" inurl:co.uk "submit your site" inurl:co.uk etc. I'm pretty sure you got the idea
from my experience , when I try to optimize for .com it automatically get good ranking in co.uk too. but in co.uk the competition is very high so it require more efforts....
Provided you have a webmaster account in Google.uk and are building links with your specific keywords embedded within them (from any website, not just .uk sites), your website will be indexed and rank just fine in Google.uk. It's also best to make sure that the server hosting your website is in the UK as well.
