Wasting my time and money on a forum. Not worth it all, better off sticking with sites.

My biggest mistake was when I spent $350 that wasn't mine on a fancy flash site, thinking if it looks good they will buy. Couldnt have been more wrong. Plus what I was selling you can get for free or 1 cent on eBay and I guess people knew that already.

I think mistake is the key of success. So if you didn't make any big mistake then the profit wouldn't be big for you :) Everytime i found a mistake i have did, all means in real, i earned something, as you cant understand that was a mistake untill there are some clearance about that :)

I think my biggest mistake was spamming on a web hosting related forum and gettng banned. I was getting lots of customers there, but after get banned my hosting business reduced. Altough it cleared me more that earning faster isn't the thing through spamming :)

    Regards

Kind of agree with you.. Without mistakes you can't learn. So mistakes come along with sucess.

Spent too much on advertising on websites that did not bring me much traffic.

Thinking I could do the adsense to CPA signups without research.

Adsense costs a lot when you aren't converting. Do research first :)

I've only been doing this for a year and I've spent a lot more money than I've made. But I try not to dwell on 'mistakes'. I like to think of them as lessons. Sure one lesson may cost me a couple hundred bucks, and another lesson costs me $50 shortly after that, but as long as I learn the lesson and apply it, and never make that mistake again. It's money well spent.

Using a wrong robots.txt syntax, which actually instructed search engines "Don't Crawl My New Site!!!".

I sat for days at home, watching Google, Yahoo & MSN's crawlers come to my site and leave instantly without spidering it.

    I couldn't understand why.

Then I figured it up and corrected the syntax and everything went fine.
I can't forget the days of anger, frustration and helplessness that I experienced back then.

I was extremely angry at my stupidity and carelessness.

Not a mistake, but i found i gained more by adding more content than submitting to free directories.

The time i spend adding to directories is more worth spending adding more content.

    At least from my experience.

I made a reeet old clanger ... Only a few weeks ago - I have around 60+ sites blah, blah - anyway ... I was looking at country names to register for a laugh with .eu  - and to my suprise i found www.ltaly.co.uk was available  - i jumped on this instantly - paid for the domain, paid for some hosting blah, blah ... waited a few hours for the servers to get ready for my fantastic new website ... waited a few more, next day still unable to upload anything, contacted the hosting company ... And found to my stupid, ultra quick typing i'd bought Ltaly.co.uk  - i typed in so quick that it looked like Italy.co.uk - ltaly.co.uk ? amazing hey! - wot a fool! - I have now slowed down my typing, l think .... (that l was L he, he)

I have yet to see if it is a mistake or not, but i did a "silent" release of opening my web application, I am looking to really start advertising online this coming month. I wanted to touch a few things up before I start really pushing it...

its when you write keywords but hide them as the same colour as your background or make them really tiny.

    grs123,

Friendly advice. Put some content on your property site.
You might be risking your google account.

Getting banned by adsense two times. LOL.Then i didnt know anything clicked on my own ads both times.

Now i am with it from one year, still i have fear somewhere that i may get banned again by adsense or other program. Now im spending 90 % of my time checking invalid clicks than concentrating on my sites content. There is a quote " A cat fell in hot water fear cold water also".

    buying php scripts,
    joining to adwords,
remove a really good domain from my godaddy panel,
putting hidden keywords to my website, and banned.
