Hello, Im totally not knowledgeable when it comes down to SEO, so do not laugh at my questions. We just finished designing our site, and are about to start the submission process. But I believe it is indexed with Google already. I wanted to check my website ranking www.theafricantree.com. When under the ranking it says N/A what does it mean? That I am not just ranked? Or that the server could not find me? Or that the site is not indexed? Thanks... DJO-EL
Your homepage is in Google's index. If you type site:www.theafricantree.com that gives (or should give) all the pages of your site that are in the index.
Your site is indexed. What keyword are you trying to check rankings? When checking for your position online, N/A could mean, you are not in Google for that particular keyword. I use http://www.searchenginegenie.com/rank-checker.htm to check my rankings. It has been accurate so far.
I suspect you are referring to Page Rank when you say you get N/A. PR is very different from SERPs (which is your rank in the search engine result pages). SERPs placement has to do with optimisation of your onpage content, PR is solely to do with backlinks (people linking to pages in your site).
Thank you guys. I checked my site and Im indexed in Google, I also submitted it with Yahoo. Thanks. Tatiana I will also use your provided link. Thanks for the tip girl!
