Google is making search better. If you feel you're being screwed, get some lube. It will make things less painful.
You probably might right about it.. as SEO, we must be flexible enough to reach the demands and changes of the SE we wanted to rank for.. with the Google's changes in time, they are like upgrading their SE just like what we are doing with are sites.. One site should be kept updated if you don't want to be left behind by your competitors..
I will just continue with that i am doing. I don't think i will feel any changes for the websites i own since they have timeless content and visitors are willing to backlink to them.

I have some serious issues with what Google is doing. Let me start by saying all my businesses are doing very well with the new updates, that does not mean to say I am happy about what they are doing! Lets start with the very latest I discovered the latest local listings algo change back in August http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1908713 (by mistake I called it adwords, I meant google local listings) but it would seem that Google now plans to charge for for those local listings and enhancements etc... This is very very bad news! The best thing about business on the internet was that anyone could be a success, you did not have to be a large company with millions in the bank to reach your customers. Small businesses keep the economy ticking and create competitive pricing. Google is screwing all these new businesses out of the opportunity to be an interenet success with low startup costs. Pretty soon you will not be able to get on page one of SERPS without paying in someway. Google is thinking about money only. They know the people that have big money to spend are the large businesses and they are finding the best ways to extract money from them with a disregard for whats best for the Internet. I think Google have a responsibility to be responsible. They affect to many peoples lives and should be sanctioned by the goverments of the world in some way. Bill Gates was told many years ago that he was not allowed in certain industries as he would have to much of a Monopoly in the world. The same should apply here. The success of Google is largely from website owners, they are the reason Google even has something to search on in the first place. Now lets look at what Google are doing to our much loved sites like Gumtree and Craigslist. Oh I love CraigsList A grea site simple and does everything we want it to. They are a rival to one of my businesses in some way, but that does not mean that I agree with the new Google Algo that is destroying theri natural search. For example lets look at Gumtree, they get lots of search traffic for things like office space in soho or stuf flike that. Now individual offices that register in Google Local will be listed in the top 10 first instaed of a far more useful site that already has data properly listed with prices etc... Google will destroy these sites for local related searches. Look at Gumtree's alexa ranking since the new update a few days ago. Lets look at how they screwed the adwords up. When the map appears on the top right of the search results, as you scroll down the map covers the highest positions on adwords. so being 3rd to 7th is no longer a good thing forcing more people to need an adwords listing at the top of the page to get the clicks they want. As I said before, all my businesses are doing very well as they are much loved and well established, but I love entrepreneurs and hate big corporate as they are bullies and do not have the public's best interest at heart a majority of the time. I wonder how much money Google would lose from an "Anti Google Day" and what would happen if everyone used yahoo or bing for just that day. How many people might be tempted to sway as a result of it. I understand Google needs to keep on top of spam, and they do a great job! BUT.... there communication process is terrible, they have to many people by the balls and when something goes wrong with a website in SERPS it can often be too late by the time Google respond to anything. I think they have a responsibility to have a better communication channel. and just as a side note, I HATE google instant. Its always switched off on my settings and that stupid web history stuff. I spend most of my time traveling all over the world and you suck at trying to predict what I am interested in so stop trying and stop switching it back on randomly its damn annoying!
Bing is soon a monster. It's kicking butt, wait till it's up there with Yahoo and we got another good search engine.

I had one site hit very badly in the June update - completely removed all the search terms that site had been getting for the 5 years before that change - but they seem to have completely undone that change and gone the other way now, that site has gone from peaking at 5000 views a day to 1000 and now 12000. That site is 8 years old and is completely carried along by the tide of Google, there is nothing I can do about it. Meanwhile my newer sites I *need* to update regularly or google simply drops them completely. PR? Curious where that goes, but with traffic building on its own every week it is just a pat on the back to say you're doing well, bit like an Alexa ranking. Not accurate, but gives you the warm fuzzies when it gets better.
Google means business they are updating and doing everything they could to protect their own interest so that is how it works...so what we need to do is to go with the flow
I rarely visit such topics because I know most of you guys have sites that are pure garbage sites designed to only get your money from ads and don't offer any real services. So I hope Google IS screwing you over royally and makes your life so incredibly difficult that you give up your evil ways and go get a real job. SEO problems? What problems? Every one of my clients is ranked number one in their category and all they do is offer their legitimate, real services in a responsible way. My clients are the customers for Google and not you and Google serves us very well.
I agree, take a deep breath. Lets focus on saving the worlds entrepreneurs, and be angry at Google for putting barriers in their way.
There are no barriers in the world's entrepeneurs way. As I said, our legitimate businesses have no problems with Google. Most of you do not have legitimate business sites and just leech off ads and waste people's time and offer nothing to society. I'm not an angry person except when it comes to such scams. The only reason you have problems is because you run useless sites and don't deserve better.
Well Said ...All i was saying is that recent changes are not good for both webmaster and User alike. Results are slopping hard to read getting to be very poor quality.
You think you got screwed? Google owes me a check for over $12,000 from AdSense that I never saw from a couple years back.
Google is the top dog, and can afford to do what they like, I wish there was a competitor to make them think more about the smaller businesses it initially gave a big hand to
