What did you study in school? What are your strength? You should start out with Google Adsense or article writing. Good luck!

You are a native english speaker so you are one up on a lot of people here. The first thing I would recommend doing is going to the Buy, Sell, Trade section and offer some content writing services. Essentially, people will give you a topic to write on, you can charge around $0.01 per word (typically the going rate). A few days worth of effort on this will give you enough funds to play around with. My recommendation is to get a budget before jumping into the game of internet marketing and content writing is a good way to get a budget started.

Once you have a budget, then you can perhaps hire others to help build a website around whatever it is you want to market. But my recommendation is always to start out by getting a budget first. $100 or so would be enough to get moving.

Well I can't say I know what my strengths are when I comes to the internet. My strengths are more along the line of the manual type, welding, electrical, drafting, etc... I'm not a good writer. I do have some Google Adsense websites that I got from a PLR offer some time ago, but there out dated. "far as the graphics goes". the content is probably still good. What would you suggest, how would I market the websites for traffic?

You don't have to be a top of the line writer. It isn't rocket science, I promise. There are indians that are charging that rate that can't even hardly type a grammatically error-free sentence. However, if you can type well, then that would be the route to go. Most people visiting this forum have some experience typing and are fairly good at it.

Outside of that, I still think you need a budget. Whether you want to pick up drafting work on the side (i'm also a draftsman) or something like that, then do it. But get a budget first so that you can outsource stuff that you don't know how to do (design/programming/etc).

I will look more into it. Do you work for yourself or a company? Drafting that is. I used to have a budget but lost all of it trying and buying new things to try and make money online. For the most part I just gave the money away, because nothing has made me any money yet. That's being a newbie

Hey buddy, this is not fair. You should not target any one personally or not even a country. Why are you saying like that, all Indians are not alike . Why Indians only? There are so many people from different countries who don't even know how to write one complete sentence. My point is that one has to begin from somewhere, if someone is trying then we should motivate him/her.
Its good to see that you are helping this guy who started the thread but you should not be so rude while talking about Indians.

There some good advise here. You don't need a website to get started but it helps. For example, you could put affiliate links in your signature.

Yes, not sure how to do that. Could you advise? How could you get rid of the long ugly affiliate url to a better one?

Here are some tips that may help you:

    1. Join some CPA networks. It's very easy to do, but if you have no clue on how to do it just download this free report: http://www.theimsite.com/upof/report_free.zip.

    2. Assuming that you don't have a good budget to take the paid route (if you do it's even better), choose a free traffic source like article marketing, SEO or social marketing.

    3. Contact your affiliate manager and ask for help to choose a vertical and some offers that are performing well with your traffic source. Affiliate managers know the insights of this industry and will put you in the right path.

    4. Take action and keep focused. If you choose a free strategy it may take a while for you to get results, but don't start jumping from one system to another, just be persistent and results will come.

I agree, get a budget first. There are many avenues to make money online, I did it by creating a website, making creative content, and making money off CPA offers, and then explored other means as well

You are a native speaker and you shouldn't have problem writing if only you have some sort of spell-checker software with you - Microsoft Word?

The interests you have mentioned are pretty rare in the internet space. Most people who do have websites in these domains (like welding, drafting, etc.) are those with 0 hands-on experience themselves. Get yourself on for a long term here - start writing how-tos, make videos of your own work, post them on YouTube (not many get to do that themselves, mind you) along with a prominent badge of your own website.

If you are going to write quality content, people are going to come to your site like flies. Don't forget to get them sign on to your Facebook and Twitter page. You can go a long way here with your experience..

    Hey Guys,

All this information and ideas are great, you have given me some insight on some stuff I could be doing. The content thing sound like something, it seems that a lot of people are looking for content writers. I never really done any content writing, English was by far my worst subject in school. How do you write about something you really no nothing about? I mean as far as a selling point for a product or service that you haven't ever used yourself?

    Hi,

I think most of us started off not knowing much, but you are in the right place. Make a point of learning each aspect in turn and in no time you will master simple things like how to acquire products, how to build websites etc.

When I first started 10 years ago building a website was a chore and I had to learn HTML these days there a are plenty of software that will allow you to build a website like a pro without the knowledge of HTML or any other script.

Writing for others is not a long term strategy. For all you know, you could be writing about diapers and make $15 from it. Ten months down the line, you will still be making $15 an article. But if you are going to write about what you love and what you know, you will be making much much more per article ten months down the line.

Writing for others is never a good idea for someone not looking at the short term.

In my experience writing or promoting something you love is attarctive, but will not neccessarily earn you a decent income (of course depends on what the product is).

Writing or promoting something that everyone is looking for will give you far better chance of success.
