Can someone enlighten me? Is this a fence, as in, 'chain link' prison-type fence; or a 'wall' as in, Berlin or Israel?
I'd hope its in the Israeli model. But I don't think actual proposals have been put forth, just the funding of it.
They are building the fence using top secret methods from the military research program. To see the fence, you'll need to put on special military glasses that use proprietary military grade technology. The glasses utilize an advanced multicolor spectral array. When viewed with the naked eye, one lens looks red and the other looks blue.
It's easy they take all of the money from the government wellfare the whole works, So its like All of the tax money goes to them when it should go to the original american citizens. Not people trying to get around the law to become an american citizen.
A great deal of social programs actually goes to new legal immigrants...a lot more than illegals (in most cases). Illegals generally go to jail quite a bit more, than the average citizen, though. I think of it as we're taking on far too many uneducated individuals, whom will likely have a lot of kids. Education is the foundation of our country, and time will demonstrate how depleted these funds are when the illegal immigrant parents can't produce enough revenue to support their child education (via taxes)...thus passing the burden on to everyone else. Within America we do that for citizens, because it's a controlable and reasonable process. We hope that our citizens move upwards and that poverty will shy away. We do not set the variable in that numerous millions a year will enter our country and have numerous children for us to take care of. Israels wall is only small portion of the border...most security fence. Most of the border will be a dual fence. I think they're only doing 700 miles...although you really don't have to do some areas or they couldn't...due to the hills and such.
You were talking about the smuggling of illegal immigrants under the wall, and I was arguing that the average tunnel would be used exclusively for drugs in most cases....due to the high yield in profit per kilo/pound/etc...plus the time, effort, and chances tunnel diggers were taking (ie there's too many mouths to reveal things). Its about time we build this fence, the EU has 2 border fences Ceuta border fence and a fence along their eastern border, to keep the illegals out. Now if we could just build one on our northern border and keep those lousy canadians out
They take all of the money huh? What about all the people that come here from countries other than say Mexico and get immediate welfare aid? Who are "original american citizens?" Do you mean those that were alive when our country was forged? Or do you mean just those lucky enough to be born here--in other words, you are anti-immigration of any kind. I know this is to someone else, but I had to say.... Personally, I had to comfort a friend after two people in his life were effected by illegal immigrants. One was raped by an illegal, and the other was murdered. The first committed suicide because they couldn't handle it ie the depression got them. That's direct shit...there's other things which happened but didn't effect me personally.
I know someone that was raped and it wasn't by an illegal immigrant. I've had friends die, because of gang violence and those killers weren't illegal immigrants. Crimes are committed by all of humanity. Rick, I'm not sure what your point is--other than some really bad stuff happened. By the way, don't think I'm not for securing the borders. I was just asking EasyMarketer to explain, because it's easy to rattle off talking points and general sentiment. Most people do this and don't really know why they feel the way they do or how things really work.
Yeh.. i wasn't against the wall/fence, just didn't see a minuteman fence as effective enough to stop the bad guys, and I still don't. It would just be the first step to securing our borders.
Yeah, but statistically illegals commit a lot of crime per their percentage. Not all of them....some are rather wholesome wouldn't hurt a fly type of people. Just to share that bad things do happen...directly to people. oh, I understand. I believe I disagreed with his statement already.
You're right. The minutemen know most of their behaviour isn't going to stop a lot of things...they just get people's attention. I'd say they're fairly effective at that. No insult, but sort of like you...with a bit contraversy. What they do isn't exactly popular among some people....doesn't mean it's right or wrong.
Speaking of minutemen, I got an email from the RNC informing me that there's a meeting coming soon. I guess they want to put up a fence around Nevada to keep those Californians out.
