I think that i must wait at least one month more, so that i can have more content on my site and will be approved at more directories.
    Also wanted to ask something.
I have a site that is something like a network. The only things my domain shows are links to my sub domains. So i was wondering if i should add my domain to the directories or my sub domains?

any backlink which is valid and not taken with blackhat method are usefull. Though directory submission is bit slow method its still worth to get backlinks from that. But if you are looking for traffic than its not at all worth for it.

Basically a link is a link. If its a relevant link to your site, then that's even better.

Thats a legitimate response, but if you are asking for advise any information you receive will be general. We are a community, answers to specific questions can help others too. Link it up friend, or are you afraid someone will steal your idea and improve upon it? Doubt full, its rare if those kind of personalities get that far. On the other hand, no one has a monopoly on ideas. With the kind of things you are asking we need to see your site and sub domains to give you an appropriate response. And besides, if your niche is that lucrative, why would be bumming around here, sometimes you just have to trust people.

submitting your website to random directories might backfire. you'll need to ...
    a) submit to good PageRank directory
    b) directory related to your website theme
    c) directory without "no-follow" tag

i would rather have 5 useful backlinks than 50 useless ones.

    hope this helps

I agree that directory submission is a good source back links. As for traffic, it depends if the directory has high PR, is paid, or is an authority directory site like DMOZ.

I disagree. Yes, it can be source of backlinks, but the chances of being approved was very minimal. It is not effective as forum posting and blogging.

There are more spamming free directories and they do more harm than benefit.
Yes , the method is not dead but the search engine importance level on directories have decreased barring linking from DMOZ and Yahoo (Paid).

The tougher to get included in a directory the better your chances.Virtually futile in highly competitive niches...
