I think you will not have any problem with Google, because it is a child name and not company name. On a serious note, why do you want to name your baby Google, Yahoo, Bing, Microsoft...while not "Bill Gate", it is a great name for human being.
What if you name your baby Google or Bing, and he/she decides to become a prostitute later on? That would mean using the trademark name for commercial purposes. Ergo, expect a $10million lawsuit up your Yahoo!
yup, you may call him google, and someday you can call your grand sons "adsense, chrome, android etc.."
Why do people even ask this question?! Lets face it even suggesting that to your partner would see you slapped with a 500 yard injunction and a child support bill to pay on a monthly basis. I'll put money that you call it something more like Bill, Frankie or something a little more plain.
Because it's stupid and it's making the child a target for mockery . Just like naming your kid Adolf Hitler you're ruining his chances of happiness .
Dude, you seriously need to see life outside your room. Turn off your computer and go outside, get some nice warm sunshine and have a stroll at the park. How about naming your son Redtube or Youporn?
I think YouJizz would be better. That way, when the kid starts touching himself, he can be like "You.....Jizz!".
Reminds me of the classic Youtube "interview" by Ricky Gervais with Coldplay's Chris Martin. - You love getting corporate sponsorship for stuff and you named your child Apple, obviously after the computer firm. How much money did you get for that? - 4 billion dollars. - Well done! - 2 billion of it was taxed.
Funny thread. I'm not expecting OP to be serious with the question, but these days when it's possible to change even your own name in many countries, it could give interesting opportunities regarding SEO. Although quite freaky.
I can't speak for other countries, but in Sweden there are rules for what you can name your child. This is ruled by a government instance. The most important thing is that the name should not provoke or basically make the kid's life too hard. Since 2009 it is possible to name your child with a single letter, like A, B etc. Company names are not allowed and titles like Professor, Doctor etc are not allowed as well. Digits are not allowed. Basically, all weird names are allowed if they aren't company names, digits, titles or provocations.
And the thing I'm just wondering about is what the child will think of such a "gift" from the parents... I wouldn't be happy with it...
