Page Rank Contest

I know that there is alot of seo contest out there, but is there anyone holding a page rank contest? I think it would be a good contest to see who really knows what about page rank and how to get it.

If there was a page rank contest would you enter it? I would, let me know if there are any contest like this out there.

 

There's nothing to know about PR, it would be a boring contest. The person with the most high PR links will win. Nothing others can do about. Real SEO ranking contests have far more interesting and less documented factors involved.

 

It could take years to get in/through... depends on what is the minimum - come out - value...

 

So you think it is that easy. I will only say this, just because you have a bunch of high pr link pointing to your site does not mean that you will get a high pr. I would be willing to bet that you could get yourself 10 pr 7 pointing at your site and you still might not get even a 5. I know it sounds krazy, but there is more to getting high pr then just going out getting high pr links.

 

No, there isn't.

And it wouldn't make much of a contest. It's like doing a contest on who can show the most money at the end of the contest. Obviously, rich people will win.

 

Anyway,

I still do not see any advantages of being the winner here.

It takes years, has nothing to do with your natural search results,
people do not understand it...

You are right, it might not be much of a contest, but it would be fun to see who can do what they claim they can do.

 

Thats true, And also, people with already many high PR sites will link to the site entering the content and get a PR 7 or 8 within the next update. IMO, that wouldnt be a fair content for everyone.

 

But is a contest for SERPs any better - someone with a high PR and relevant site points a few well anchored links to a site to move it up in the SERPs.

The major downside of this competition is that there is a big likelihood that there would be multiple winners I mean say the winner gets the new site to PR6, there might be 5 other people that get their site to PR 6 as well. Not like SERPs where the person at the top wins.

And yes, IMO ranking contests are better because just linking is actually not a guaranteed way of winning. Whilst it's a MAJOR factor indeed, we've seen some interesting results in recent competitions. And there's actually something to learn as the contest develops. With a PR contest there's nothing to do in between start and finish as far as onlookers are concerned.

 

Ok, would anyone care to go head to head in a pr contest. The rules are simple.

1). buy a domain name with pagerankcontest in it.
2). you are allowed to get only 10 links to point to the site. (This will avoid going out and buying sitewide links in order boost the page rank).
3. you must report the links that you have pointing to the site, (This will also avoid cheating through redirects and any other tricks you might try and use)
4. you can not get links from the same location as each other, that would defeat the purpose.

If you win I will give you $300 payable through pay pal. If I win then it is just bragging rights for me. If we tie then we can either extend the contest or call it good.

Since the page rank has pretty much updated again it will be fair for both of us and hopefully will only need to wait until the next pr update maybe two in the event that google does something funny.

So if you think you know that much about pr then lets give it a go. I'm not afraid to lose and do not mind paying if you win.

 

$300 would not cover the cost of getting enough high PR links.

 

and there will be 10 first place winner, 50 second place and like 200 third place

That was a fast reply I just put this out. I was also going to point out that you can not get more than one link from the same site also.

$300 would cover it. After all if what every says is true, then all you really need is say 2 pr 7 links and you could win. pr 7 links are pretty cheap.

 

this is a head to head contest between me and one other person brave enough to give it a go.

 

If I wanted to win I wouldn't just get 2 x PR7 knowing other will get more. I don't get why you don't get the non-point of all this.

 

T0PS3O, this is for fun, and also to prove that you may not as much about pr as you think you do. Then again you may know the same thing I do but there is only one way to find out.

 

If a PR contest was for a decent amount of money,

Buy as many high PR (8s and 9s) as possible = win
Easy, there's no brainwork involved.
