Dear Fellow Affiliate Marketers, I am writing today to Inform You about a Scam , me,and My girlfriend fell for. We were working with a few web hosts through commission Junction. Earning a fair amount of commission.. Mostly referring our web design clients to various web hosts, such as Ipage, Hostgator, Web Hosting Pad, etc.. When we referred one of Our clients to web hosting pad, we noticed the sale didnt go through.. so we contacted WHP , telling them that the signup was one of our clients, and expected to see a commission from them for it. They immediately stated that most signups that dont go through are because they are "fraud". I guess paying customers are "fraud"? anyways, They stated that they would like us to join their "IN HOUSE" affiliate program, and that they would add the "missing" commission there. So we did, we joined their "IN HOUSE" affiliate program See whp did this so that they could avoid their CJ fees, and further fraud us , by stealing even more commissions. We made some sales in their "in house" affiliate program, only to see them dissapear, a few days later... when asked why our commissions dissapeared, they gave us the same crap! Oh these are fraud, etc, etc. But the sites remained online... So we said, well if these are fraud, then why are You still hosting them? Thats when the never responded, and took even MORE commissions out of our acct. So i would advise ALL of You to stay FAR away from this company.
Thanks for the warning, but I think most of us old web host affiliates know that webhostingpad are scammers. They don't even try to cover up for it, but do it blatantly. But yeah, new affiliates should be warned. They scammed me $1000s of dollars coupla years back, so I stopped promoting them. P.S. Didn't know they owned Greenville Host. Thanks for the info!
I have been working with WebHostingPad for a long time. I have had minimal issues, and the minor issues I did have were quickly addressed. Threads like this one are created by disgruntled affiliate promoters who don't know how to read an affiliate agreement. The best advise that can be given to a new web hosting affiliate is to always read the affiliate agreement. I promote different web hosting companies in different ways depending on the terms of their affiliate agreement. Promote honestly and within the rules, and you won't be in the same boat as andy or 'webtechnologies'
I Beg to differ sir, we were sending our web design clients to them, and our web design clients paid for the year upfront. however when it came time to put our commissions in our account, WHP took forever, and tried claiming all of our signups were scams. Its as simple as not being able to afford to pay , for Your advertised commission rate. If Your web hosting costs $50 per year and Your paying Your affiliates $150 per commission, You would quickly run out of money right? So why not just ask Your affilliates to come into Your in house program, so You can take away any of the commissions as You see fit? or whenever You'd like?
That story just doesn't add up... The whole point of affiliate marketing is to grow the renewal base. That is how they make money.
If you were scammed file a rip off report. If they are violating CJ agreement, I guess you can notify CJ? Find more and better affiliate programs. Can I ask where you find affiliate programs to use? I recently launched our own, and I need to start marketing it

Were you there? Did you sit right with us the whole time while whp scammed us? I didnt see you there. did you see me? I dont think you should judge our situation as if you have sat there with us, and know our whole story. It sounds like you work for whp the way you are shilling my thread with your oppositional point of view. I would rather not argue with you so I ask politely for you to kindly respect my thread and allow us to openly talk about the way we were SCAMMED by whp. Thank You
Thank you for post. also add hostpapa They dont any bucks for 4 sales.all are my friends.and i recommend to them but they dont paid Beware from hostpapa also.
No, hostgator did not, they counted my sales several times but i guess they refused those who just signed up for 1 month free
Another scammer is 1 and 1 . They directly scam their customers and affiliates. The hosting affiliate industry is flooded with cheaters. I don't know why CJ don't ban these advertisers cause the chuck publishers at every other reason. @flight05 Hostgator is not scam. They are one of the legit hosting affiliates. THey extend all sales to see if the customer has renewed or not. Its in their policy. They do not pay if service is not renewed to the second month.
"If Your web hosting costs $50 per year and Your paying Your affiliates $150 per commission, You would quickly run out of money right?" You had a hunch it was a Scam with this comment. So why are you suprised now.? just curious.
Because all hosting companies do the same thing, "WIZE ONE". and I didnt say I was surprized, did I ? Wize One?
